How management has changed: Saw Pep Guardiola’s staff pic after today’s game against Liverpool and thought it was fascinating. Yes, Man City have a wealth of resources at their disposal but I think it tells you a lot about coaching at the very highest level today. How do you structure the team around your team? Not just in terms of who does what but more a case of how effectively and efficiently information flows.

It’s great in theory to hire people but it is very challenging to manage specialists with so many moving pieces in the game today. Coaching skills are accelerating towards leadership skills than simple x’s and o’s. Less directing more facilitating, less exclusive more inclusive, less ego more humility and empathy.

How important are throw in's? We have not worked on them (need too). We need more depth in this situation and the two center backs need to be farther apart. Body shape is keyd. Good job by our 6 to find the space between the two forwards to allow us to break a line and play out. Good awareness from our GK to read the defensive play and find her outlets. We always discuss having three to four outlets. Players must move off the ball to find the spaces.We go over a lot of pattern play out of the back to cover a lot of differnt situations!

Slipping the ball in by our number 23 (#8) quick counter from Real Co then back to possession and moving the ball again from left to right while breaking the lines while we maintain shape.Nice sequence of playing in tight spaces while maintain possession (Rondo). I have not worked on the final 1/3 with these girls so the crosses will be fixed! Runs in the box will be fixed! Good space, good depth and good width!

Maddie #44 droops back into space after our left back moves forward. Maddie then drops central to support the LCB after she goes forward, she reads the game well! Now I'd love for her to attack and get forward on the left side and get numbers up but in this situation it was her decision on the movements!

I've decided to coach a 2006's Girls Select team at the Rapids. I scouted these girls at a tournament to watch their style of play and it was only kick and run! Our GK didn't even take her own goal kicks! I've been working with them for two months, two days a week for two hour sessions. Here is a snap shot of us playing possession. I will not go into details.

Our u9 boys won the Disney World Champions in 3v3 this past weekend.
