This photo was one of our trips to Guatemala a few years ago. Our trips have evolved over the years, and now we're focused on four amazing adventures annually. NO extra fees for Solo Travelers. We hook you up or you get a room to yourself as default.

We explore amazing Guatemala during the All Saints' Day Festival, November 1st. It's a 9-day journey beginning in October filled with vibrant cultural experiences and stunning photography opportunities. We also love Guatemala during the week before Easter before the crowds hit it.

Cuba journey is from January 27th to February 3rd, and coinciding perfectly with the International Jazz Festival in Havana. OLD cars are cool but there is so much more in Cuba. We spend a night and day in the land of the Cuban cigar-making area when not in Havanna.

Second chance
Out of prison for sexual crimes against children
I almost didn’t take this assignment because of its nature and my own past. Men who commit sexual crimes have been scum in my view. Listening to these guys and the vicious cycle that runs through families is both maddening and sad.
Always call it out if you even suspect there is secret sexual crimes in a household or anywhere.
It’s a touchy subject on forgiveness for such crimes. Two things I can’t stand are child abuse (physical or emotional) and animal cruelty is right up at the top too.
Yet here I am photographing and talking to these men who’ve gotten on their knees asking God and humanity for forgiveness.
The only way that I can do this is by understanding the abuse and neglect they experienced, that cycle that weaves through families until someone stops it.

Pandemic Lockdown- History-Making

I've been fortunate to work all over the world covering, wars, peace, and a lot of politics. I have never covered a pandemic but someday this too will be history.

My job has been to find, investigate, develop, write and photograph. The most challenging area is to get people to let me in, to get beyond the obvious. I love that and have a background in cultural anthropology has been a key but also life experiences of my own.

It's harder to find a story in my own backyard, my own town. Challenges are fun so
today in dreary rain and clouds I challenged myself to see what I might find and learn in Eugene while staying at least 6 ft away.
