Cruises are beginning to sail this week to Disney's newest private Bahamian destination: Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! 🏝🌊🛳

Many Disney Caribbean cruises will now include a stop at Lookout Cay... pretty perfect timing in combination with the current offer to pay only 50% of the usual required deposit for winter/early spring cruises!

After taking a little break from Disney travel planning for 2023, I’m back at it for 2024!🎉

There are lots of good things happening at Disney World in particular this coming year. Beginning on January 9, 2024, park reservations will NO LONGER BE REQUIRED. Also beginning January 9, guests with Park Hopper tickets can park hop at any time… no more waiting until 2pm. And best of all, the long-awaited Dining Plan will finally be back on January 9! 🍗🥗🍕

Shoot me a message if you’re thinking of traveling to any Disney destination anytime soon… I’d love to help you.

This high school graduate (!!) and I are now recovered from our whirlwind time at Disney World. We pretty much did it all on our 4-night/3-park-day trip:

Walked over 40 miles.✅
Rode every ride (except Tomorrowland Speedway, no thanks).✅
Got to experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (newest ride, so great).✅
Slept minimally.✅
Ate lots of yummy food.✅
Survived a FL deluge.✅🌊

Plus lots more.

It was a great trip and a good example of how you can experience a lot with proper planning—even in a shorter time frame.

Let me know if you’re thinking of a trip to Disney, especially if you don’t feel like thinking through all the logistics alone!

One of my clients' most common questions since Disney World reopened is: "When will Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reopen?" For those who don't know, BBB is the special "salon" in Magic Kingdom that specializes in royal head-to-toe makeovers (like really elaborate dress up) for kids 3-12. It's been closed since Covid, initially because of social distancing and more recently because of staffing shortages.

But now it finally has a reopening date: August 25! And they'll start taking bookings in early August...that's bound to be a competitive process, so let me know if you'd like help with making those (and any other) reservations. 🥳

Character hugs are back at Disney World!

Other recent updates:

🗓 2023 packages are now available!

🎢 Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is now open at Epcot!

🎄 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is coming back this year, and tickets go on sale July 7.

🎃 Tickets for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are on sale now.

👸 Many favorite characters are finally returning, and new characters are also debuting (Mirabel!) on June 26.

🥳 Overall, things are getting better and better at WDW. As always, contact me for a free Disney quote or if you have any questions about a travel destination.

Do I feel strongly that Disney is incentivizing Disney+ subscribers because of recent negative media attention? Yes. Does that mean I’m going to let y’all miss out on a deal? No.

Disney+ subscribers can get some nice room discounts this summer! Let me know if you are a subscriber and if you’d like a reduced-rate quote for a trip Julyish-Septemberish.

Also let me know if you’d like Disney+ screening tips from a fellow D+ parent. OR if you’d like screening tips for all the other streaming sites that also need to be closely monitored by parents. 🙃😇

No real details yet, but Minnie's fleet should be hitting the roads again sometime this summer. 👏👏👏

Who else would like to be enjoying this view right now? I know the PeopleMover is not the most thrilling attraction, but it's climbing my list of favorites. This might have something to do with my age also climbing. 😅

What's your favorite Disney ride?

What about least favorite? (Tomorrowland Speedway is the only correct answer.)

Last week, we celebrated our 13th anniversary by taking a trip to Disney World (we took this blurry selfie as proof). We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge 🦒, walked over 30 miles 👟, ate lots of yummy things 🍦🍱🥯, and--if our kids ask--did almost only Boring Grownup Things.😂

In addition to avoiding every activity that would make our children jealous, we learned a lot:

🧞‍♂️Genie+ is a good idea for most days, but you'll want to go into it with some basic understanding of how the system works (hint: it's pretty confusing). I've lived the struggle now, and I'm here for you.

🏃‍♀️For trips with big kids or adults, I DO recommend Park Hopper tickets now. We've never used them before (and still won't with our whole crew), but we hopped this time and loved the flexibility. So if your crew is past the stroller stage, definitely consider it.

🏢 Disney resorts are just the best. Okay, I pretty much knew this already, but our trip confirmed it. Since it was just the two of us, we used the monorail and Skyliner (and our own two feet) to tour (and eat) around several resorts we'd never seen before. If you've never committed to staying in the "Disney bubble" while at WDW, I highly recommend it.

🌸 Related to the above, I'm moving to the Polynesian ASAP. If you need me, I'll be eating sushi for all my meals and watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the lobby every evening.

🌂 We now know that if it rains UNCOMMONLY hard for March, Epcot will flood, and everyone will have to swim out. It's unlikely that this will ever happen on your trip (because Google tells me it's never really happened before), but I can recommend a good, washable pair of tennis shoes AND give you instructions for how to work your resort laundry room. I can't give you a good escape route from Epcot though (because there isn't one).😂

Let me know if you have any questions about recent changes at Disney World or (as always) if you'd like a no-strings-attached quote for a trip to any Disney destination.🏰🏖🛳

Facebook has been giving me frequent reminders:
"You haven't posted in a while. Write a post to connect with people who like your page."
"Share what's new by creating a new post..."

I finally decided to pay attention and post over here after a *counts* FOUR month break. And it turns out there actually is a lot of "new" going on at Disney World. It's actually kind of giving me whip lash, but I'm pushing through.

One great aspect of some of these recent changes is that last minute Disney trips are becoming a little bit easier. Gone are the days of scheduling FastPasses sixty days in advance! And no more waking up at 6am six MONTHS in advance to make dining reservations. Insert large sigh of relief.

So what I'm getting at here (and the picture might've been a hint) is that I really think you need a visit to Disney World for Christmas. And there's still availability. And the 50th Anniversary celebrations are still going on. And the mail is slow, so what if your other gifts aren't delivered in time?! Disney to the rescue!🎉🏰🎉

Also, take me with you. 2021 has been hard. 😅😅😅

Fireworks are coming back! 🎆🎆🎆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

“A Disney tradition since 1957, fireworks shows are what Walt Disney called the perfect “kiss goodnight” at the close of a magical day, and this summer the skies above Disney theme parks will sparkle with color once more. Beginning in July, just in time for the nation’s Independence Day celebrations, our incredibly popular nighttime fireworks spectaculars are returning to Disney parks!”

BIG NEWS!!

Starting June 15, face masks will only be required on Disney transportation...NOWHERE ELSE! I know this has been an important issue for a lot of you, so I wanted to share an update as soon as I heard. 👏👏👏 Disney's official statement is below.

"Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in most areas. Face coverings will still be required of all Guests on Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner. While we will not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation. Guests must observe current policies on face coverings until June 15."

Masks are NO LONGER REQUIRED OUTSIDE at Disney World. They are still required in all attractions, when entering any retail/dining location, and on all transportation. But this is a huge step back into normalcy, and I’m very excited about it!

07/05/2021

We’ve been home from The Happiest Place on Earth for a few days, and our withdrawal period is almost over (is it ever really over?!). So I thought I would answer a few common questions I’ve heard about visiting WDW during this time.

1. How are crowds?

Disney World is only allowing about 35% of capacity right now. This means that wait times are *generally* lower and that there are certain times and places where crowds can feel lower than usual. However, there are still some indoor entertainment and dining places that haven’t opened back up yet, so there are fewer places for people to disperse. And the social distancing in lines can make them appear super long. Because of all this, you can expect the crowd levels to feel pretty similar to Disney as usual, especially in the afternoons. But you can definitely get a lot more accomplished in the mornings and evenings.

2. What about masks?
None of us were thrilled about having to wear masks so much during our trip, but we went into it with eyes wide open. Did they add to the fun? No. But did they ruin our trip? Definitely not. There are plenty of opportunities to remove the masks throughout the day (at relaxation stations, during meals/snacks, and during pictures). And honestly, Florida is hot no matter what, so we can’t really blame the heat on the masks.

3. What’s up with parades and characters?
There are currently no regularly scheduled parades and no usual character spots. However, there are several cavalcades (mini parades) that pop up randomly throughout the day, and they’re so fun. They often include characters that aren’t as common, and it’s always exciting to hear one start up because they aren’t as expected. Characters are functioning similarly. If you keep your eyes open, you’ll be able to spot Disney pals throughout the day, often in uncommon places. And you’ll be able to pose for pictures in front of them. I actually prefer this to the old character spots because they aren’t usually out long enough for lines to build, so you never end up standing in a long line to meet a character.

4. Should I plan a Disney World trip right now?
My main advice is always this: DISNEY WORLD IS ALWAYS FUN. If you’re thinking that it would be fun to visit WDW sometime soon, it will be! Even with masks. Even with social distancing (hey, there are perks to not standing too close to folks in that Florida heat). My only caveat is this: if you are interested in a Once in a Lifetime Disney Trip (you’ve never been before, and you’re planning to go once and then never again), this probably isn’t the best time. It would still be fun! But it might be better to wait. Otherwise, go for it! And let me help you. ;)

Memorable Vacation Planner

So many of my own happy memories are special moments that were brought on by Disney. I can still smell the stale popcorn and feel that grown-up feeling that accompanied my first trip to the movie theater. The movie? The Lion King. I remember being in awe that a *cartoon movie* could make my Grown Up Sister cry (it was when Mufasa died, of course). I can remember the exact old quilts we snuggled up with on the night we watched Aladdin on the fold-out couch. And years later, when other girls had surely moved on to N’SYNC, I was dancing around the living room singing Part of Your World. My two childhood trips to Disney World provided even more of these special-moments-turned-memories.

So many things in life are important. School is important, money is important, clean clothes are important. But memories are VITAL. (I mean, have you seen Inside Out?) And I know that I can count on Disney vacations to help create those stand-out moments that will be tomorrow’s vivid memories for my family. And you can count on that too.

I’m Hannah, and I’m here to help you plan a dream trip that will stay with you and your family long after you return home.
