Restaurant week has been amazing so far! Thanks to everyone coming out and supporting local family owned restaurants! Ending the week with some awesome local specials. Seared Jersey scallops over mashed sweet potatoes with a local Jersey corn Summer salsa, Fried Green Jersey Tomatoes, stuffed local zucchini blossoms, and we cooked off some overnight salt & pepper rubbed briskets so we could slice em up and use as an amazing burger topping. Our roast pork is the stuff dreams are made of! It all starts with pan roasting and grinding a bunch of whole spices for our dry rub followed by an overnight dry brine covered in said rub. The next day we roast them for about an hour until they are brown and bubbly. Then we add some citrus, fresh herbs, olive oil and roasted garlic before sealing them up for their overnight slow roast. 16 hours later out comes perfection. This pork gets treated a variety of ways and is featured on our carnitas tacos, our bbq pork sandwich, our Jersey Cubano and our Phiily pork sandwich. I highly recommend you try some!

Come in and try some of these incredible green tomatoes from Stella Farms! I take a trip up 73 to Berlin every week to keep us stocked with Stella's famous sweet corn. Everytime I go I find some other fun summer ingredient to work with. Everything from zucchini blossoms and yellow watermelon to these green beauties. Simple panko breading, fried crisp, topped with our summer corn salsa, baby arugula and balsamic. Tomato season will be over before you know it so get some of these while you can!

We start with the absolute pinnacle of bacon, Nueske's, and treat it with the respect it deserves! 24 hours in our hold oven gives an amazing texture then its chilled, sliced, drizzled with honey, our spice rub and roasted in the oven to meld everything together. Hello NJ.com! I saw this amazing article today about 'The FIRST & ONLY Farm to Table Diner" in NJ!!! Have to say, not sure NJ.com did all their research before writing that headline! First off, kudos to The MKT Diner for helping support local NJ farmers and for putting in the effort it takes to use fresh local ingredients! We welcome them to the "Local Tastes Better" family and hope they are wildly successful! There is an enormous amount of labor required to prep a majority of your menu in house. There is also a huge hurdle when having "diner" in your name. "Diner" has never been synonymous with fresh, local, or high quality. When you put your focus in that direction you're setting a very high bar. You're inevitably going to get push back from folks who may be prioritizing price, quantity, and old school diner fare over quality, freshness and new school creativity. If you're going to call yourself a diner but you don't exactly fit into that traditional mold, you better be good or you are going to hear about it!

Anywho, we have been in the diner business since 1969 & have been focused on supporting local farmers and businesses here for over 20 years. Gazpacho is here! An assortment of fresh tomatoes and other local vegetables pureed with extra virgin olive oil and sourdough bread until silky smooth. Topped with sesame croutons and our summer salsa. Salsa will have a mix of everything we are getting locally and will vary slightly depending on what is at peak ripeness when we make it. Beat the heat this summer with one of our seasonal cocktails! Made with local blueberries, strawberries & peaches these lovely libations are fresh and delicious! Strawberry Jersito is our play on the classic mojito. Fresh mint from our garden, local strawberry compote, lime juice and club soda topped with a strawberry lime skewer. The Blue Jersey Lemonade is made with local blueberry puree, lemonade, club soda, fresh local blueberries and mint from our garden. Finally the Peach Bourbon Slush is icy cold and soooo good! They are coming...... My favorite dish last summer was our tomato gazpacho. My friend Ramon is a tomato wizard and these little orange beauties are so sweet you'll wonder if you're eating a tomato or some kind of candy. I'll blend piles of them along with local plum, cherry & beefstake tomatoes to make an amazing gazpacho. Topped with a summery mix of tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, herbs from our garden and whatever else local and fresh that I can get my hands on. Some croutons and extra virgin olive oil finish it perfectly. The tomatoes are supposed to arrive tomorrow so we should have gaspacho on Wednesday. I will post as soon as it's available.

You know your corn is gonna be good when it shows up in a giant burlap sack! Thank you Russo's Fruit & Vegetable Farm, Inc., this corn is sweet & delicious! We are currently featuring this all over the summer menu. Corn Ribs, Corn on The Cob, Blueberry Corn Cakes, Corn Waffles, & our Jersey Sunmer Rigatoni... just to name a few. The rigatoni is made with a corn infused double cream that we steep with corn cobs and corn puree. I recommend adding jumbo lump crab to the dish. It's a perfect combination!

I don't know if you have tried our crabcakes, but they are phenomenal! We use a mix of crabmeat, primarily jumbo lump, lump, and claw. Claw for the flavor, jumbo lump for the texture and for filler instead of a whole bunch of breadcrumb we fill our cakes out with lump crabmeat. As a binder we do use some cracker meal along with our egg & mayo mix but it is just enough to hold all that beautiful meat together. They are formed and broiled to order and then we top them with some of our citrus herb compound butter which is full of citrus zest, roasted garlic & herbs. Perfect compliment to the crab! Our seasonal crabcake dish is currently 2 cakes over our fresh corn & tomato salad drizzled with a salsa verde. Comes with 2 sides. Corn & Crab is one of my favorite combos!

Having a nice herb garden is a real game changer! I love being able to go out and grab the perfect mix of herbs to put into our Citrus Honey dressing. Lemon, Lime, Orange, & fresh garden herbs like basil, mint, & tarragon make this dressing a perfect summertime choice. Comes standard on our Smoked Salmon Salad and our Jersey Summer Salad, but you can get some for any of our salad options. So good!!

🍔🥞 Let’s celebrate the legacy of the **Vincentown Diner's Fathers** the dads who started it all!🥳

🚂 The original Vincentown Diner was built in 1953 as an old-school, stainless steel train car-style building. In 1969, three brothers—Nick, Spiro, and Peter—purchased the diner and its surrounding property. In 1972, they erected the current diner near the original location. These wonderful father's passed the restaurant on to their son's, one of which still owns and operates this local landmark.🌟

Thank you to all our wonderful patrons who spent Father’s Day with us! 🙌 And a heartfelt shoutout to our dedicated staff for working on the holiday. You make the Vincentown Diner a special place. ❤️

When you ask people in the culinary world who produces the best bacon, the answer is almost always . They raise a special breed of pig and their cooking process is long, low and slow. It is perfection. We cut these three lil' slabs down into smaller pieces and we are cooking them for 24 hours. We will chill the slabs, slice them into triple thick slices and roast them in the oven with our brown sugar black pepper glaze. Salty, sweet, smoky, unctuous, amazing bacon. We will feature this treat on a few different dishes on Father's Day! Bring your special guy in on Sunday for this ultra special bacon!

The meat on these awesome street tacos is tender, juicy and full of amazing flavor....oh and it's mushrooms! Lion's mane mushrooms are the absolute closest natural meat alternative that I have ever tried. They start like big white puff balls and after sautéed in butter and rosemary and pressed to remove their water they completely transform into something with the taste and texture of a steak. We are serving lion's mane on soft flour tortillas with house pico de Gallo, roasted corn & homemade salsa Verde. A fantastic meal even if you aren't vegetarian! Get some while we have em!

We always get such beautiful produce from our friends . It is PEAK strawberry season right now and these Jersey Strawberries are incredible. Red through and through! So excited to be using these. I've said it before, the strawberry season almost feels like it's over as soon as it starts so get these asap or wait until next year!
