NEW TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR 2025 ⭐️

Real ID: set to finally take effect May 7 after being postponed multiple times. You must have a Real ID compliant driver’s license or ID card to board a domestic flight within in the US. If you do not have this by the deadline you can use a passport card or book. Again, this only applies to domestic flights within the US, for international flights you need a passport every time.

ETA for entry into the UK: starting Jan 8 travelers to the United Kingdom will need to obtain an electronic travel authorization online or through the mobile app and be approved before entry as well as pay a £16 fee. Once approved, authorization is good for two years. This is not however a visa and does not replace visa requirements if needed.

ETIAS for entry to Europe: set to take effect in May (this has been postponed many times too) US passport holders will need to obtain travel authorization online before visiting any Shengen zone country in Europe. This will be good for multiple entries for short stays over three years or until passport expiration (it will be automatically linked to your passport). The fee will be €7.
