The Edge in Champaign Illinois - Chambana Suites

Sometimes IMO - less is more.

I spent time between guest check out and check in today over at this beautiful property and moved a desk and chair out of this room into another bigger room. Also removed a couch and some bookshelves in the suite to free up some space and balance out the bulkiness this space seemed to carry.

I tend to be on the more minimalist functional side for decor both in my home and my suites. What about you?

I’m really excited to be expanding from 6 to TEN suites coming this summer.

There have been several upgrades done on the original suites as well. It’s been a season of maintaining for a long time but the season of growing and expanding is here and I am very very excited about it.

☕ Sip, Sip, Hooray! Its a little late but Oct 1 is PUMPKIN SPICE DAY…and really so is the entire month. ☕🍂

Indulge in the cozy flavors of fall with a homemade pumpkin spice latte! 😍🍁

Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Wrapping up many updates, glow ups, and projects happening over at the suites this summer both big and small. Excited to get some professional pictures of approximately capture the vibes and essence of each one but for now the iphone camera still does a decent job don't you think?

I used to not want to post a photo unless the lighting was just right and everything was perfect. But there’s something sweet about the progress, the process, the small changes, and updates.

The Edge has new stools, the booth got a fresh coat of paint, and the chalkboard wall had some small markings from tiny guests who did some art, which was very cute, but some of our small business friends weren’t able to be read easily and now that’s been fixed.

It’s been too long since I posted on this page but life has been crazy full. Working on updating the suites, growing a human being, starting another small business and closing out this school year with my other kids has been multiple full-time jobs for one person.

I’m VERY excited about the updates coming and that have come for the suites and more excited to show y’all!

At the Edge this week I finally was able to get some new lighting and air circulation in the backroom and I love the way it turned out.

New beds and other fun updates coming for several other suites over the next month and into the summer and I swear I’m going to do better about posting about them!

New shelving at The Willis! I love finding pieces that fit the different aesthetics of the suites. These modular shelves are second-hand from a friend of mine who was ready for a change in decor and I was all too happy to give them a new home!

Over this coming winter season, I’m working on adding more comfort and coziness to all the suites. Today I spent a good chunk of time working in the Willis and the Attic (pictured here) snd put this little seating area up in the smaller bedroom.

I’ve had some great guest feedback that has given me insight into what additional items would be good additions but I’m always looking for more!

What comfort/cozy (essentials or bonus) items do you look for when you travel??
