Goodbye, old friends.

I am immeasurably sad about saying goodbye to Splash Mountain today. My heart is heavy thinking of all the memories I shared with Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear in my 24 years visiting Walt Disney World. I have sang my way to the Laughing Place. I have dreaded that final drop. I have screamed my whole way down it. I have laughed at the bottom. All more times than I could even try to count.

I am so excited to experience the new Tiana's Bayou Adventure ride, but for today, I'm going to let a few tears flow for my good friends in the Briar Patch. Have a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah day, my friends. You'll always be my Laughing Place.

Some of you may know, I took my very first trip to Universal Orlando Resort this past Thanksgiving. I have officially caught the Universal bug, and I am already planning my next trip! These 2 pictures perfectly describe why I go to Disney so often. These kinds of memories are things I cherish from my childhood, and I am so glad to be making them now with my family. He may never remember Splash Mountain when he grows up, but I will always remember laughing with him going on this ride 3 times on our very last day to ride it, soaking wet. The memories will last forever for me, and that's what makes it worth it.

Make the memories. They're the most important thing.

If you catch me in the parks this weekend a sobbing mess, just know that Splash Mountain has one of my most favorite rides for more than 20 years, and I am NOT OKAY. This goodbye is going to hurt. Everything is Satisfactual. 😭😭😭

Have you ever wondered why you really need a travel agent? This is my call log from Friday night into Saturday morning (Christmas Eve). A sweet client had their flight cancelled on Friday evening. Within one minute of receiving the email about this, I was on the phone with them finding out what they wanted to do and promptly called the vendor. Due to the crazy weather all over the country, I ended up waiting almost 12 hours to speak with someone. Most of that I spent sitting in the queue waiting. Finally, at 3:30am, I opted for a call back and got a tiny bit of sleep before being woken back up less than 3 hours later with the call back. Then I spent a combined 2 hours on the phone getting them cancelled and rebooked (this doesn't show another hour after the agent had to call me back when the call dropped).

I felt completely jet lagged at my family's Christmas Eve gathering, but I was SO glad that I was here so that my client didn't have to sit on that hold themselves to sort that out on Christmas Eve. THAT is why you use an agent. You never know when the blizzard of the decade is going to mess with your travel plans, and you really want me to be available to take care of things just in case!

Here's a little end-of-year reflection. 2022 was an incredible year for me. My business grew leaps and bounds thanks to all of you amazing, loyal friends, family and clients that trusted me with your vacations and referred me to your friends. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for every one of you!

This year I booked more than 100 clients to more than 55 unique hotels and destinations. You all traveled to more than 20 countries throughout the year! That's amazing (and more than double the 2021 numbers!)

I cannot wait to see what 2023 holds for all of you and am honored to be a part of the memories you will all make next year. 🥹 Here's to you!🍾🥂
