I have sailed the lower Mississippi on this ship and it is one of my favorites. I can almost taste the Memphis style BBQ being prepared at the Aquavit Terrace.

We had a morning stop in Tournon, France which is a big vacation area, especially for campers and hiking and fishing enthusiasts. We took the vintage steam train along the gorge by the River Doux. In addition to the expected beautiful views of nature we also saw the aqueduct hand hewn through the stone hills by WWI German prisoners of war.

Hot tip for those of you on a river cruise between Lyon and Avignon. If you stop in the little town of Beaujeu while visiting vineyards near Lyon, go to Boulangerie Patisserie Cheyenne et Paul bakery and try to snap up a raspberry croissant! It has raspberry in the dough and a raspberry filling. I had to find an image of one because I inhaled mine without a thought of stopping to take a picture! Yummy!
