First, it was the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Now, Bob Cassilly is picking fights with the school system.

As you read this story, in which Cassilly claims he doesn't have the money to fund the needs of the Harford County Public Schools for the next school year, keep in mind that this is the same County Executive who is starving a tourism agency that generates nearly half a billion dollars in tourist spending and $61 million in county tax revenue annually. This is literally like a homeowner tearing up his paycheck and then telling the bank he doesn't have the money to swing the mortgage.

Fortunately, there are fiscally responsible leaders on the County Council who are ready to end this unfortunate standoff and act in the county's best fiduciary interests. We look forward to securing the resources that are necessary to promote Harford County's attractions, events and award-winning local businesses - and in so doing generate the revenue that is reinvested in schools, public safety and other priorities we all share.

Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly said the school board’s preliminary request of an additional $60M is not “in good faith.”

Bob Cassilly claims that Harford County doesn't have enough money to invest in those first responders who keep our communities safe. Yet, at the very same time, he is doing everything within his power to destroy the county tourism agency that turns $645,000 in hotel tax receipts - which don't even come from local taxpayers - into $61 million in annual tax revenue.

Just the latest reminder that Bob Cassilly is putting his latest personal feud above the safety of our families. Grateful to our County Council members who recognize the value of the work we do and are working to give us the resources we need to serve this wonderful community we call home.
