#Garmin #NoPlaceLike Visit Olathe Olathe Chamber of Commerce
Post race clean up on what better day than โEarth Dayโ. Thank you to all of our volunteers, participants, sponsors, and donors that made this event great yesterday.
2019 race date and #WizardofOz character to be announced soon when registration opens in the summer. Can you guess which character will be next year?
The race director is signing off for a while from the race world, and back to the other part of his job in sports marketing for our nonprofit the Olathe Chamber of Commerce & Visit Olathe. We are a separate organization from the city. The Garmin Marathon is our one big sports events we have been organizing for 16 years.
A portion of your race entry goes to the Olathe Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund and supports children and families in our area in need of food, shelter or clothing.
Special thanks to Garmin our title sponsor for letting us have our start and finish at your beautiful campus, and helping us with new branding that will have new Oz characters each year for many years. (Collect them all)
Thanks to the wonderful government employees who earned some much needed overtime pay out of all the race participants fees. City of Olathe, KS Government, Johnson County Park and Recreation District - JCPRD, Johnson County Emergency Management, City of Olathe Fire Department, Olathe Police Department, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
