It's memories like these....

"Meeting" the statue of the real Winnie, who traveled to Europe with the Canadian Army during WWII, and later moved to the London Zoo, where she met Christopher Robin and inspired Winnie-the-Pooh.

Finding Winnie by Lindsay Mattock is a fantastic story of the real Winnie. And Winnie-the-Pooh is one of our all-time favorite books.

So this made a simple statue at Assiniboine Park a highlight of our Winnipeg vacation.
