What do you do when you come across a muddy part of the trail? Our first thought might be to walk around it to keep our shoes dry, but did you know that could be negatively affecting the environment? Going off trail and creating what we call 'social trails' kills native plants and increases the size of our impact on the environment. Be sure to pack your hiking shoes and be prepared to walk right through that mud!
