Keep your eye out for those green beans!🫛🌱
Look along beaches and around boat ramps for mangrove seedlings.
Drop off healthy seeds at any one of these 4 locations:

~SCCF Bailey Homestead, 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957
~Marine Max, 14030 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33919
~Marina Mike’s, 19300 S. Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, FL 33908
~Bay Water Boat Club, 5124 Bonita Beach Rd., SW, Bonita Springs, FL 34134

And thank you!!!!!!!!!!!🐟🐠🎣🐡🦈

The mangroves kept Ian from doing more damage to Southwest Florida. That's part of what makes them a critical part of our eco-system.

Went on a bike ride today through every traffic light & along the main roads, trying to spread the word. We can still go fishing🙏🏼

Support all the SWFL captains by making fishing your next family adventure or suggesting a charter for our FL visitors. Florida & it’s waters are still beautiful! And those fish are out there, bigger & stronger than ever!

Sanibel Operation Support: Calling all fishing guides whose businesses have been impacted by Hurricane Ian—Sanibel needs your help!

We are helping the city of Sanibel launch a transport boat service to get residents back and forth from the island while they begin recovery on the island. They need licensed fishing guides with boats who can offer those types of for-hire services for residents and business owners of Sanibel.

With the Sanibel causeway damaged so badly by Hurricane Ian, it may be up to a month before even a temporary bridge can be established, so the city is asking for guides who can help bridge the gap and kickstart the road to recovery until something more permanent is setup.

Help get these hard-hit folks safely where they need to go in order to maintain, secure, and repair their properties. Sign up for the program here: https://captainsforcleanwater.org/cfcw-sanibel-operation-support/

Here's what you need to be eligible to participate as a guide:

-Must be a guide from locally impacted areas
-Valid Captains license
-FWC permits (if applicable)
-Current Insurance
-Current Boat Registration

We will be up & running next week for those that are willing and able to join us. We have been given the most beautiful weather imaginable after the storm and it has made cleanup a little brighter.
I hope to see you soon!

Cpt. Mike, assessing any damage.
Boat is fabulous, minus a few leaves. It was anchored, secured, and attached to the truck. And was parked in an ideal location, avoiding full-force winds.

The family is good. The house is good. And the boat is good. Thank you, God. We were extremely fortunate & blessed to have come through Ian with only cosmetic damage.
God, bless Florida and it’s people. 💗

Captain Mike

Background

I was raised in Lehigh Acres, FL. As an avid hunter and fisherman, I spent every chance I could fishing the waters of Lee County. When I graduated from High School, I joined the U.S. Coast Guard and spent the next 20 years traveling to both coasts of the US, spending most of my time in the Pacific Northwest. After retiring from the Coast Guard, I moved back to Lee County to be near family and to enjoy the beauty of Florida!
