Let’s talk about the Disney Skyliner! My favorite mode of transportation at Walt Disney World! If you’re staying at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort or Riviera you have this option to take you to Epcot & Hollywood Studios! A huge perk of this is that you can just push your stroller right on without having to break it down. So if your child is sleeping you don’t have to wake them up! Also, easy for scooters and wheelchairs! As a final bonus, you typically get one all to yourself and the views are amazing!

As a travel agent, it is my job to visit the destinations that I book as often as possible to educate myself and experience what my clients encounter first hand. I have 2 couples checking in here next week! One of them spent their honeymoon here at Unico 2087 last year & the other couple had a bad experience at another all inclusive in Dominican.

Anyway, a few months ago we sat down to get them booked on their anniversary trips (making it a couples trip this time) & I had prepared 3 resort options from another really well known luxury all inclusive brand. We were going all around in circles...clients wanted swim outs & tubs on balconies, great service & food, amazing spa & the kicker was 24 hour room service. The other 'brand' just wasn't checking all of the marks at a price point that wasn't crazy high.

So, I brought Unico back up & my clients started getting really excited when I could get them everything they wanted + that 24 hour room service they were spoiled by last time at an amazing price point, with an easy flight.

So....off to Unico 2087 they go & I know they're going to have the best time ever!!

After more solo trips to Orlando than I can keep track of over the last 10 years as a travel agent, we decided it was high time this guy got a solo trip of his own! He’s checking out Halloween Horror Nights tonight at Universal Orlando & then will be headed over to Disney for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival! He’s having the best day already & I’m so appreciative of all the support he’s given me over the years as I pursued this career. It takes a lot of selflessness to send your significant other off to fun places time after time, while you hold down the fort with 4 kids at home!

Unico 2087 Trip Recap: Day 1

We flew out of Tulsa into Cancun with a layover in Houston. We landed at 12:03 & were in the transfer by 12:53, a super easy process at the airport, getting our bags & through customs 😅 We decided to book a luxury private transfer through Lomas. I like trying new transfer companies & Lomas didn't disappoint. We were checking in at the resort by 2pm, so landing to resort check in about 2 hours. The drive is just over an hour. *this timing will vary depending on time of year/airport busy-ness & traffic*

When you arrive you're greeted with cool towels and bellman who quickly take your bags off your hands. The resort has the most amazing scent that welcomes you. Instead of waiting in a long line at a desk, you will wait on a comfy couch & they come to you for the check in process. They also provide a refreshing drink. This took about 30 minutes for us.

Our room wasn't quite ready, so we went to the main restaurant for lunch. This isn't a buffet but a regular menu that has SO many options! We got sushi, salads, & enchiladas. Once we were done with lunch our room was ready.

When we got in the room there was the cutest little birthday surprise for me left by our "Local Host". Every room type comes with this perk of a "local host" who acts as a personal concierge. Arranging dining, giving tips on entertainment & they'll do things like get a bath set up for you or arrange for you to get mimosas delivered each morning, etc. They are there to enhance your experience!

First thing I did was hop into the huge tub on our balcony & enjoy a bubble bath & a beverage from our stocked fridge. At Unico you get to customize your stay before you get there & choose what kind of drinks & snacks you want! It was a bit rainy (little tropical storm came through the day before) so we just enjoyed our room & relaxed until dinner.

Dinner was at Cueva Siete which is regionally focused & serves dishes rooted in Mexican tradition (not our usual mid-west Mexican fare 😉. The menu was different than our last time because they rotate chefs & they now have their first female, Chef Lula Martín Del Campo. My favorite was the ceviche & fish tacos! We headed to bed right after dinner to make sure we were rested & ready for Day 2!

The Premier resorts (Hard Rock, Royal Pacific & Portofino) at Universal all offer water ferries to get you to the parks. Look how close you’re dropped off to the entrance (Right behind the Universal globe)! It’s a quick 5-10 minute ride to & from the resorts & it’s beautiful to boot. This makes it sooo convenient to take an afternoon break to swim or nap. You’ll have plenty of time for park rides even with a break because these resorts also offer complimentary Unlimited Express Pass which enables you to skip the lines. For real, it is an absolute game changer. You don’t have to schedule the rides or even use your phone app at all with the unlimited express pass at Universal. For my people who hate having to have a structured vacation, this is the way to go. You can be all willy-nilly about it and focus on your family/relaxation and still have the most amazing time.

Hello! I think an introduction is in order, it’s been a while. My name is Leanne & I have been booking vacations for 10 years! I am a travel agent who specializes in booking Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, Disneyland & Unico 2087 in Riviera Maya Mexico. I only book destinations that I frequently visit & know inside & out, so that I’m of actual VALUE to my clients. It’s the age of the internet & we all know we can jump online and book a vacation & get a confirmation number. However, that really isn’t comparable to booking your vacation with an expert. I have all the answers to the questions that pop into your head right after you decide you want to visit Disney or Universal & I can assure you, there will be a lot 😅 When you book with me, I explain each resort, ticket type, park, theme park property etc & match that to your family’s very specific needs/wants/budget. When you have a question instead of scouring the internet you can just shoot me a text or email. Need to make a payment or change your dates?….don’t call a 1-800 number, send me a text & I’ll be the one waiting on hold.

I save my clients money regularly with promos & work arounds I’ve learned over the years, but honestly “DEAL” is a 4 letter word to me. I don’t want people contacting me for a “good deal”, but rather because they’re busy & want me to handle their details & be able to rest easy knowing they’re in good hands. Many people don’t realize, but it doesn’t cost you any extra to book through me. Each destination pays me after you travel. WHY does Disney & Universal pay me?? Because they know guests who book with travel agents have a better/less stressful time & are more likely to come back. It’s truly a win/win/win for the destination, the guests & me, your local travel agent who’s just trying to keep her 4 kids fed, clothed (who knew teenage boys were so expensive), housed & taxied around 🤑 Seriously though, it’s a huge blessing & at this point a necessity to be able to contribute to my family in a financial way.

It looks like a fun job & it is, but managing people’s vacation dreams & lots of hard earned dollars is not always rainbows & roses, but I’m really good at what I do & have built a career out of a hobby. Most of all, I have acquired the most amazing and loyal clients these last 10 years. YOU are what keeps me going & inspires me to keep educating & experiencing so I can pass that onto you ✨✨✨✨

I am waking up at Universal’s Aventura hotel this morning!  I have toured here, but this is my first time actually staying. I chose this resort because it is a prime value resort, which means the price point is awesome, but I am able to pool hop to any of the Premier resort hotel pools. The other big reason I chose this hotel is for the proximity to the parks. If you look at the map, you can see Aventura is situated directly next to Loews Sapphire Falls hotel, which offers a water ferry to the parks. When you take the water ferrys at Universal you do security at the resort instead of at CityWalk with all of the offsite guests, which can be a big time saver!
