Gators and Ghosts is an independent booking agent in New Orleans. We work with more than 25 different tour companies to find the right tour for you. You can explore New Orleans' incredible history: from the Native Americans, to French and Spanish rule, the Cajuns and the Creoles, the Louisiana Purchase, the pirate Jean Laffite, Andrew Jackson and the Battle of New Orleans, slavery, Madame LaLaurie

and her haunted mansion, Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau, Mardi Gras, jazz music, the Storyville brothels, early rock n' roll, Hurricane Katrina, and the ongoing rebuilding. While visiting new Orleans you can see our beautiful above ground cemeteries, the 24 hour party that is Bourbon Street, our amazing architecture, magnificent and fascinating plantations, the mighty Mississippi River, and our levees, canals, and parks. There are tours that can go deep in the bayou with a Cajun guide and so you can view alligators close up. At Gators and Ghosts we personally attend and research the various activities and excursions that we recommend, so we can ensure you’ll have a wonderful time. We love our city and our work. While doing research about hauntings at Loyola University New Orleans, I stumbled across this gem from the 1969 yearbook's introduction.

The text reads: "New Orleans is a conglomerate. It is the city that care forgot, the city of night life and lights, of Mardi Gras and the French Quarter. It is the city of tradition and elegance, of Lee Circle and the Garden District. At the same time, it is the city of racial discrimination and prejudice, of grinding poverty and extensive slums. It is a confluence of cultures and customs which have formed and developed a unique entity the Yat. It is a city of Saints and sinners where nuns walk side by side with st*****rs, priests with pushers, police with gangsters and reformers with left-handed politicians. It is the city of daily rain and fog... of azaleas and gardenias. of Dixieland jazz in Jackson Square... of a streetcar ride for a dime... of leisurely drinks in a quiet French quarter patio. The New Orleans atmosphere is unique. It has a cosmopolitan tang that at the same time is strangely provincial. Those of us who live in the city swear by our 250 year-old home. Many of us from out of state swear at it. But none of us can deny the magnetism of the city and the fact that it is a tremendous education in life."
