Hi, Pat here again - After our harvest of corn, we needed to make it easier to feed our cattle. We milled the corn with the cobs into meal that the cows love. We definitely minimize how much we feed them with 99.9% of there food coming from our pasture and the alfalfa grown here on the farm. We learned that in order to keep the tractor and mill running, someone needs to be sitting in the tractor seat. Without weight in the seat, the engine shuts off!
Hi! Pat here - Since our move to Iowa and the Little House on the Farm, we've been busy getting ourselves up to speed on farm life! The last quarter of 2021 was exciting and filled with new experiences for us – and they all happened right here on the farm!
In this next series of posts we will share some of our new experiences – you never know what might be happening when you come to visit us!
Here is harvesting of our corn to be milled for feeding the calves.🌽🐂
Whew! We are filled with emotions today as we say goodbye to our home, farm and business. 😢
It has been a wonderful, event-filled 32 years here, and an amazing 12 years with The Little House and Guest Barn bed and breakfast!
We have met so many wonderful friends from all over the world! It was our vision to share what we’ve been blessed with…so what an honor it has been to have you all stay and enjoy the simple, peaceful country life on the farm! We are overflowing with gratitude!
And we hope you will continue to choose the Little House on the Farm as your respite destination. We have passed things on to
Jess and Pat Young and their children! They are a sweet, wonderful family that will continue our vision and add new ones of their own!
The Lord said, “I have directed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths.” We know He has led us down this memorable path and will guide us down the next…we continue to feel blessed!
❤️❤️❤️
The birds are singing praises this morning! Hallelujah!
Happy Easter everyone!
