Maui’s tragedy is painful to so many of us. Our hearts go out to the people and community of Lahaina. It sometimes seems like there’s nothing we can do to help with such a great loss. However, there is something we can do… VISIT HAWAII! Not the most affected areas, but other parts of Maui and other islands of Hawaii. I’m sharing the below message sent to me by the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. Please watch and share.

President Biden and Governor Green toured the impacted area of Lahaina today and a press conference was held, which may be viewed via the below link along with further updates from the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority. Please take note of Governor Green’s message at 12:02-12:47. He continued to urge visitors to refrain from visiting West Maui (including Lahaina, Nāpili, Kāʻanapali, and Kapalua) and shared the rest of Maui is safe.

Today, during his remarks alongside President Joe Biden and Hawai‘i’s congressional delegation from the impacted area of Lahaina, Hawai‘i Governor Josh Green continued to emphasize the need to avoid West Maui at this time, as well as the importance of travel to the rest of Maui and the other Hawaiian Islands and the economic impact it has on the well-being of Maui and its recovery.
