A little different style of making dessert wine here at Stony Hill Vineyard. These are Semillon grapes that are drying out in the sun to concentrate the sugars. This is an old Italian method of making dessert wine called the "passito", or straw wine, style. I just took this video today at 4:30pm from my house up in the mountains at the 4600 block of Dry Creek Rd, close to where the fires are still burning. These helicopters are filling up from a reservoir at my neighbor's property and dumping very, very close by.
