We had a blast yesterday at the Dirt Divas skills clinic! It’s always great to work with other fantastic coaches and riders, like Bernadette Merriman - huge THANK YOU for driving down from Brevard to help make this clinic even more AWESOME! Ready to get MUDDY!!! with our first group to go up the shuttle to slide down. It rained on our parade, but not our spirit! It was great meeting new female shredders and riding with a few old friends At yesterday. Clinic participants always want to know... should I be riding with flat pedals?

It's a loaded question, and I'll be the first to tell anyone that I had a super hard time when I started riding flats again. After racing BMX using clips from age of 12-18 and then going straight into DH locked in, I thought I would *totally suck* without my clips. I was partly right, but now that I know how to properly weight my pedals to move and jump my bike without relying on my feet being attached, I've have become a way more controlled and skilled rider.

Wow! What an awesome weekend at Roam Events @ Brevard! I had a great time getting to know so many women from Texas, Tennesse, South Carolina, North Carolina and Wisconson. It's always a good time at Ray's Indoor Bike Park for Ray's Angels Women's Weekend! I think the final count was 230+ women at the park this year. We packed the house!

I was happy to be able to provide some instruction in the sport skinnies area on Friday to help women get their front wheel up and over momentum blockers they may encounter on the trail. Thanks for the photo Zdenka Cahojova-Worsham!

What an awesome start to the season! Next on my plate? A month of downhill racing! I'm looking forward to getting back to coaching in April with a few private clinics. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming opportunities and an eventual update of my website http://spoked.squarespace.com!

Another awesome clinic in the books! Clinic participant-turned certified skills coach Natalie Lew got in touch to put together a large group pump track clinic with some of her Raleigh-area Wheel Chix buddies. We were excited to be able to use Keeley Park pump track, what an awesome pump track and space (huge thank you to Susan Thomas for all her hard work to get this track built)! Thank you to everyone who came out to participate and to Zdenka Cahojova-Worsham and Natalie for being excellent assistant coaches!

From learning skills in a grass field and working on maneuvers on an ice skating rink to making it down the mountain multiple times and rolling down a super-intimidating drop like it ain't no thang! Another awesome clinic in the books! These ladies crushed it, conquering tons of fears and progressing skills at Beech Mountain Ski Resort. Even a little thunder couldn't bring this group down. We just took it to the ice skating rink and worked on our bunny hopping skills! Thank you to everyone who came out to play bikes with me and Christina Faust!
