Ohio Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Sale: This unique annual event is a haven for bargain hunters. Be prepared to shop ’til you drop, and reserve your lodging early, along America’s first coast-to-coast road! The Lincoln Highway is generally aligned with the older sections of US Rt 30 through Ohio and the country. In Ohio, it spans East Liverpool to Convoy, and every Lincoln Highway community in between.

More than 1,000-yard sales were counted last year. If you are looking for something in particular, chances are it’s out there…at yard sale prices! Along the way, you’re bound to dust off an old ball glove that’s seen so much action it is now better served as a decoration. Or you can find a used carrousel horse, often used now as a foyer centerpiece. In addition, there are many heirloom pieces such as immigrant trunks, vintage clothing styles, old technology to reminisce or display, and a wide variety of appliances – some just for show and some that still run. Vintage Ohio Wine Festival: While Vintage Ohio by Ohio Wine Producers Association at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio has truly grown to showcase more than just wine, the winemakers and their vintages draw more than 30,000 wine lovers to Lake County each August. Vintage Ohio is sponsored by the Ohio Wine Producers Association. It was named American Bus Association ‘Top 100 Event in North America’ in 2001 and AGAIN IN 2005 and was named as one of the nation’s top wine and food events by ‘Wine Spectator,’ ‘USA Today’ for the past five years as well as by ‘Bon Appetit,’ Southwest Airlines in-flight magazine, and many other national publications. Vintage Ohio is the premier wine, food, and family fun festival between the Appalachians and Rockies. It is the largest event of its kind in Ohio and offers a premier tasting opportunity for people to discover the award-winning wines of Ohio. It is at this event that nearly 20 Ohio wineries produce over 150 varieties, and nowhere else are so many Ohio wines available at a single venue. In addition, Vintage Ohio hosts two stages of live jazz, blues, oldies, reggae, and rock music. Dozens of regional restaurants and caterers will be serving their finest cuisine.

Admission to Vintage Ohio Wine Festival: Advanced tickets are $32 for adult wine samplers and $12 for non-drinker / designated drivers. At the gate prices are $37.

To save money, make sure to pack plenty of water from home. Skip the small 16 oz. water bottles and buy gallon jugs that you can use to refill, refillable water bottles. Before you set out on your road trip, freeze a gallon or two of water and use that in place of ice in your cooler. This saves several dollars too.

Zoar Harvest Festival at Historic Zoar Village has something for the whole family! A juried craft show, wagon rides, sheepdog demonstrations, historic demonstrations in historic buildings, and a spectacular antique show and sale with over 60 dealers. Games and crafts for children and an antique car show are highlights of the weekend. Food and beverages are available throughout the village and a brew tent featuring bands and entertainment will be on site. The Zoar Community Association operates Zoar Village State Memorial with the Ohio Historical Society. The site features 12 beautifully restored buildings mixed in with privately owned and restored historic homes. The village features guided tours, shopping for antiques and American folk crafts, as well as bed and breakfasts, and two full-service restaurants, The Zoar firehouse Grille, and the Canal Tavern of Zoar.

Admission to Zoar Harvest Festival is approximately $9/person (Free for children younger than 12).
