2024 season wrapped up with some beautiful November days on the water and some really nice fish! Big, healthy muskies caught and released and personal bests for my daughter, Taylie (45 in) and my brother, Rob (48.5 in). It was a great year of fishing, with so many great people, and I'm looking forward to next year...Spring Opener isn't that far away!

The last month of summer flew by with varied weather conditions, a mixed bag of of fish species, and enthusiastic anglers of all ages. As we turn the corner into Fall we look forward catching walleyes and hunting elusive muskies. We had a successful first annual Haynes Family Invitational fishing tournament on Saturday. The contestants, aka grandkids, were troopers despite the miserable weather conditions...temp 52, wind WNW 10-15 mph, and a continuous drizzle. Each of the kids, ages 6, 5, and 3, were guided by one of the three best guides in Vilas County 😉 and all caught several fish of varying species during the two hour contest. Upon return to base camp awesome prizes were awarded and general chaos ensued. And they all want to do it again next year! 😄👍
