Hello Fellow Travel Lovers 👋

We are all experiencing a crazy ride called “2020” and along with all of the chaos comes some changes for many of us, myself included.

The travel industry has taken a massive hit this year due to the coronavirus, but I am confident it will recover. After all, who doesn’t need a vacation after 3 months of quarantine 😂

Physically, I’m here- mentally I’m in the Caribbean drinking Coco Loco’s out of fresh coconuts 💁🏼‍♀️

This pandemic has been quite the whirlwind for everyone. As with anything in life, if you allow something to consume you it will. About 3 weeks ago I found myself consumed with so much information about this COVID-19 that my anxiety was through the roof.

So, I decided to stop scrolling through Facebook- and do you know what happened? My anxiety dropped almost instantly. Much of the fear is due to things we’re reading on social media, or the fact that we’re giving our undivided attention to Main Stream Media nearly 24/7 at this point. Sometimes you just have to turn it off, disconnect, and focus on what’s right in front of you and nothing more.

For the past 2 weeks I’ve utilized social media (specifically FB) as minimally as possible. Truthfully it’s been like a vacation of sorts. When I’m on vacation I don’t have my head in my phone 24/7 and I’m enjoying my surroundings- which is what I’ve been practicing in my own home with my family while we’re social distancing. I don’t feel stressed or anxious on vacation, obviously. And, as much as I’d rather be on a cruise or in the Caribbean right now, I can honestly say I don’t feel anywhere near the anxiety I felt 3 weeks ago when I allowed uncontrollable circumstances to influence my stress level.

I know what you’re thinking, how is she going to say get off FB when she’s posting this on FB? Well friends, we’re at a point in time where social media controls a vast amount of information and is a major marketing tool of businesses both big and small. So due to my business, I remain on FB but my time spent on the platform is extremely limited these days and for specific purposes and it will continue that way. Since I have been less active on my page I wanted to share this here.

So if you find yourself overwhelmed, it’s okay to turn it off. It’s okay to stay home and play board games or card games, it’s okay to have at home family devotions and Bible Studies, it’s okay to tune out the chaos and regain your composure. Your mental health depends on it.

Making the conscious decision to focus on what I •can• control versus what I •can’t• has been instrumental in my mental health for the last 14 days. I hope this helps someone else, and for those wondering why you haven’t seen me as active on social media- now you know.

These last few weeks have been a little chaotic, but I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts as a Travel Agent. First, this too shall pass. I know that this event disrupted so many families Spring Break plans, but fortunately the Suppliers have been working with Clients to get things rebooked without any fees or losses. As with any major event, you tend to see true colors, not only of people but of businesses and this has not been any different. After this saga it’s been made clear to me which suppliers I will continue to work with and who will have my loyalty and ones that I will not recommend. Even in difficult times, you can choose to take a negative situation and turn it into a learning moment. Second, you can still book future travel right now- and at amazing prices. Take advantage of the current promotions and book your future vacation now. Lastly, I want to remind everyone to find some positive to focus on and put your energy into that. Gratitude and positivity go such a long way, and only you can choose to change your focus ✨

Let’s chat for a sec about that personalized service, that little bit of above and beyond that I mentioned in my video last week about having a Travel Agent.

These are the screenshots of my time on the phone with Carnival Cruise Lines yesterday making arrangements for Clients who were set to leave on a cruise this week & opted to reschedule due to the current circumstances. Carnival Cruise Line was so incredibly helpful and I am sending their employees all the good vibes as well 🛳✨🙌🏼

The current situation of CoronaVirus flat out sucks to be honest, and I’ll be doing a Live video today about my perspective and thoughts on the situation. Regardless, it is what it is- and the wait times on the phones are averaging 2 hours. However, if you have a TA then your wait time is 0️⃣ because your agent is going to handle all the craziness for you.
