JJ was awesome! I was lucky enough to get JJ for my recent wedding. I'm recommending him to all my engaged friends! He was professional and well prepared and accommodated all song requests that I had. He kept the party going and had a light show on the dance floor. Definitely worth it! Imly T.

JJ both sang and was a dj at my recent wedding. He did a fabulous job! I kept getting compliments from all of the guests about how great of a job he did, as well as how good his voice was. My sister, the maid of honor, had a special speech done for me in which she rapped. JJ was more than willing to work with her (without me knowing) and helped her get the music in order. I used one of JJ's new services that he is providing where you answer a short questionnaire and he then writes a song that is specific to you and your fiancé. It was the absolute perfect touch to the wedding and something that we can truly call our own. I think that it was one of the most special and memorable moments and something that is unique to us. I highly recommend JJ, he has a beautiful voice, great at keeping the crowd energized, and it very professional and easy to work with. Brandi V.

Words cannot even explain how satisfied we were with JJ at our wedding reception. I am so lucky to have found him. He traveled all the way to College Station for our wedding and was very prompt and ahead of schedule! I had only spoken with him via email and phone conversations, but that was enough to calm my nerves. Good DJ's can be hard to come by and I had heard so many horror stories about awful DJ' s who had ruined the night, but least to say JJ was beyond amazing! He was very professional and super accommodating. He also was the MC for the reception and even though I sent him an itinerary I ended up changing it up last minute, but he was very cooperative and made it to be no big deal at all. We had so many compliments from our guests about the music selections and we had only gave him a handful of songs and he matched the genre perfectly for what we wanted for each part of the night. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend him to anyone who needs a DJ for any occasion! Kaylie S.

JJ did an amazing job at our wedding. My husband and I are so pleased with his music selection and professionalism. We also chose to have JJ write a special song specifically for us and sing it as our first dance, it was beautiful and he is such a talented singer and songwriter. Let me start by saying you think that choosing songs for your wedding (or event) will be the easiest part of the planning process, well... it is not lol!! However, we did have a saving grace and his name was JJ Essen!!!! There aren't enough kind words to describe the job JJ did at my wedding. He went above and beyond to ensure the day was perfect!! When I first started looking for a DJ I didn't really know where to start. Not only were the ones I was looking at outrageous in price but the few I talked to seemed to view me only as a payday. I wanted someone who was professional but who I could speak openly with and would understand where exactly I was coming from ("I want to play get out on the dance floor music but nothing that will give my grandparents a heart attack"). Honestly our goal was to find someone who we would actually want to be a part of our special day. I began looking on Thumbtack and JJ was one of the DJs who replied (very promptly I might add). After talking with him on the phone for about 10 minutes THE SEARCH WAS OVER!!! We knew he was the DJ for us. His rate was fantastic, especially if you are paying for your own wedding like we were, and his attention to detail is wonderful. He talked to me and asked me questions I honestly hadn't even thought of. JJ actually was the MC at our wedding also which was nice because he kept us right on schedule. I started this review by saying that choosing songs is not as easy as you think, plus that seemed to take the back burner the further we got into planning our wedding. When JJ contacted me again a couple weeks before the wedding to start preparing our playlist, I hate to admit it but I was not timely with my response. However, lucky for us JJ was!! We went some basic songs we wanted 2 days before the big event and told JJ we trust you just play stuff that will get people on the dance floor and he did just that!! I don't think I have danced so much in my life!! We had multiple guest say the same thing and that is all due to JJ. If you are looking for a DJ, look no further!!! JJ Essen is amazing and I would recommend him for any event needing a DJ. Courtney G.

JJ was an awesome DJ for our wedding! He was very professional throughout the whole process. We worked with JJ to develop a specific playlist that encompassed our style of music as well as the theme we wanted to convey throughout the evening. He was accommodating with my schedule and had several calls to work out the details prior to the our wedding. JJ was very prepared for the event. He knew what type of experience we wanted throughout the evening and delivered. The music was perfect! - progression perfect! - announcing skills perfect! JJ was amazing!!! Our wedding was flawless and he was part of making that happen. He was super nice, played everything that we asked for and kept the party going which was very important to me. I just wanted to say THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! I would DEFINITELY recommend JJ for anyone needing a DJ! You kept the guests entertained with your music choices, EVERYONE was dancing and having a blast!!!! They all talked about it for weeks! It was definitely a wedding that everyone will remember, because of you :) You also kept the reception flowing and making sure that everything got done and in a timely manner.
