Thank you to Village of South Glens Falls, NY Clerk, Samantha Adams Berg, and staff for collecting donations the last couple of days for people devastated in Ashville NC. South Glens Falls has a resident connection to that area so Sam got the idea to help. The response has been overwhelming. Donation collection ends at 4pm today. Stay-tuned for how all this is getting to NC and maybe you can help. Thank you, ladies and all who have donated! We indeed live in a beautiful community.

Another reason we love South Glens Falls!

The Village Clerk’s Office will serve as a collection location today and tomorrow for supplies to be sent down to Hurricane Helene victims in Asheville, NC on Monday. Our address is 46 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls. Thank you!

A Note from the Chamber President ~
What a great village board meeting tonight!
_______________________________
Now that the Concerts in the Park season has ended, I'm able to again attend our Village of South Glens Falls, NY Regular Board Meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 7pm. I am very proud to be a resident of this village and to learn about all the hard work our Board and village staff do every day to make our community the best it can be. Of course, there are challenges and problems to solve, and I do believe that the village is working hard to meet them all. I encourage all residents to attend these meetings.
I was genuinely excited about some positive initiatives I learned about tonight and just wanted to briefly share them. Of course, you can review the agenda and minutes online at www.sgfny.com and/or listen to the meetings online during the meetings as well.
√ Downtown Revitalization Committee: The mayor proposed this so stay-tuned for future updates and meetings! This is an initiative that I had hoped that the chamber could create, so I am so excited that as a community we can all work together to develop and improve our downtown. Hooray!
* I had recently asked the mayor if we could have a presentation about the SGF Local Development Corp. so looking forward to this being part of the initiative to help our local businesses grow. https://sgfny.com/ldc/
√ Grant funding for pedestrian safety study - another personal favorite of mine! Residents will be solicited for their input.
√ $10k Grant funding for a restroom at the Upper Loop Trail.
√ Three new hires for our hard-working DPW.
√ A new police car for our police chief.
√ New lighting for the bridge is to be installed tomorrow!
√ Significant progress on a project to improve water quality in needed areas.
√ Thank you to the volunteers who are painting the Historical Park gazebo. More volunteers are encouraged to join!

Thank you again to the Village of South Glens Falls, NY officials, and staff for your hard work every day. I am so excited about these initiatives and we look forward to working together to achieve our goals.

Congratulations to our friend Sage on her 'new' bike courtesy of . She wasn't available for a picture so Cheryl was happy to stand in. She's a friend of the Center and her old bike was in serious need of repair. This new ride will help her get all her errands done and have some fun too! PLUS she got two bike locks courtesy of donor Dom, one for her and another for a family member. It's so important to keep them safe.

THE ROWDIES KNITTING & CROCHET GROUP
* Learn to knit & crochet to support the South High Marathon Dance Inc..

Every Friday afternoon, a group of talented knitters and crocheters gather to make afghans with donated yarn for the South High Marathon Dance Inc. participants and other items to support The Moreau Community Center. This group is fondly called "The Rowdies" because they have such a fun time together. If you'd like to learn to knit or crochet, The Rowdies are willing to help you learn!

Rowdy member Martina (a.k.a. Rowdy Martini) has been making these lovely hats and other items that will be for sale at The Moreau Community Center Holiday Bazaar on 11/15 & 11/16.
