We started Satellite Earth Art in an effort merge our love of geography and science in

a creative venue. We have a combined 30+ years of experience working with satellite imagery to answer scientific questions and have authored numerous scientific papers, across a range of topics, related to satellite remote sensing and the analysis of changes to the Earth's surface. Satellite Earth Art is a creative extension of that work, allowing us to make science quality data available in a way that highlights the natural beauty of the Earth. Satellite Earth Art straddles the boundary between science and art, producing stunning portraits of the Earth as fine-art reproductions. The images found in these galleries are meticulously processed to reveal subtle and stunning variations in the Earth's land and water surface. Our Products

Satellite Earth Art provides both fine art prints and digital images to our customers. Our fine art images are printed on the highest quality media using archival inks, which are suitable for museum and gallery exhibits. Every one of our prints is generated when you place your order. You will not be receiving dust covered, mass produced maps covered with annotation and symbols. We believe our images stand on their own and covering them with labels and symbols only detracts from the beauty inherent in the images themselves. When properly matted and framed, our fine art prints will last a lifetime. The San Juan Islands: We put this natural color high resolution composite together as a special order for one of our customers. The image shows the San Juan's, and archipelago between Vancouver Islands and mainland Washington State. The islands were heavily logged and today consist of mature second growth Douglas Fir, Madrone, and Hemlock. In this image we take advantage of the coastal "blue" band on Landsat 8 in order to resolve finer detail in sediment. Anacortes, Washington can be seen in the southeastern corner of the image.

A few images we are currently working on from a large mosaic collected over southwestern Algeria. At first glance these images might appear to just be abstractions, however they can be used to track the movement of the large dune fields found throughout the region.
