Lake Superior Circle Tour

Travel clockwise or counterclockwise—there’s no set direction! You can even collect stamps along the way for an official certificate.

New Mexico Road Trip

Road trip dream
Living the road trip dream: finding hidden gems, soaking in the scenery, and feeling at peace with it all. 🌿

Who else has white-knuckled it through their first solo night parked in the middle of nowhere? That was me, during my first week on the road alone. - Irie to Aurora
Here's how I overcame those initial fears:
Loneliness: I started with slow, short road trips to gradually build my confidence. Podcasts, audiobooks, and regular calls with friends kept loneliness at bay, turning each journey into a chance to expand my comfort zone and meet new friends.
Safety Concerns: I've learned to always listen to that little voice—my gut feeling. It’s my co-pilot, guiding my decisions, like "Maybe not this spot" or "This feels like home." I bolstered this intuition with practical measures: a safety camera and a reliable locking system, plus regular updates to loved ones to keep my security game strong.
Unpredictability: With Amara by my side and by @goodsam on speed dial for any big uh-ohs, 'solo' has become synonymous with 'prepared for anything.' A flexible mindset, coupled with a van stocked with essentials—from water to emergency kits—means I’m ready for whatever the road throws at me.
This journey’s taught me something big: solo doesn’t have to mean solitary, and scary doesn’t stand a chance against spirited. For a deeper dive into how I've navigated the joys and challenges of road life, check out my book, 'Living the Vanlife.' It’s part guide, part memoir, filled with both practical tips and personal stories from the road. 🚍 ✨ #GoodToGo

More about these featured spots from Jeff:
‘I’ve come across a lot of stunning places on road trips that are not National Parks and these are a few of my favorites on the West Coast:
🌲1. Leslie Gulch - This is Oregon’s hidden gem and one of the coolest places I’ve been to in all of my time exploring the American West in the Porsche. This is also one of the most remote places I’ve traveled to in the 911. It is located deep in the SE Oregon Outback at the end of 25 miles of rough gravel roads. But it’s worth it! Spectacular scenery, great hiking, camping and no crowds!
🌲2. High Steel Bridge - This is the tallest railroad bridge ever built in the United States and sits 375 feet above the South Fork of the Skokomish River in the middle of the Olympic National Forest. It was converted to carry cars in the 1960s and is accessible in virtually any car, including a Porsche 911, via a well maintained Forest Service Road. You should definitely check this place out if you’re going to hit Olympic National Park.
🌲3. Alabama Hills - This has been a filming location for tons of movies and sits just a few miles west of US 395 in Lone Pine, CA. Lots of cool rock formations, great dispersed camping and a lot of basic ‘911 Friendly’ overlanding trails with the stunning Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains as the backdrop.
🌲4. Burney Falls - Teddy Roosevelt described the falls as “the 8th Wonder of the World” and it’s one of the prettiest waterfalls I’ve seen. McArthur-Burney Falls State Park is right on CA 89 and a short drive from Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California.’
