Air conditioning in Italian hotels is subject to national AND regional regulations and ordinances. This means that there are specific dates during which AC and heat can be used.

For example - AC is usually only allowed between mid-May and late September depending on the region. Outside of those times systems are often disabled - even if temperatures are unseasonably hot.

There also may be minimum and maximum allowed temperatures on the controls in your hotel room - so you may not be able to set your room controls to your preferred temperature. We recommend packing layers and if you’re prone to being hot - bringing a small handheld fan. ☀️
