Heavy aluminum grippers eat into a robot arm's typical payload of 20kg, affecting its working payload and adding stress to the arm. Customization is key for the success of these assembly lines, but is challenging due to cost and lead time when relying on traditional methods.

Harvestance turned to Markforged to optimize the performance of robotic vacuum grippers to reduce weight while improving strength.

The company achieved an 80% weight reduction compared to commercial grippers and saw a reduction in delivery time from two weeks to two days.
