Family bike ride through the tegallalang rice terraces north of Ubud. One of the favorite things I have done in Bali! Visiting small villages, balancing on elevated walkways next to irrigation canals, and visiting local families. A little scary negotiating the larger roads with local cars and motorbikes. Not recommended for kids but great fun with teens who are competent cyclists. For the most part a super fun experience with that we booked on

We (Brennan and LiLing) are very excited to toast a momentous milestone we have been working on for 3 years. Bringing Sharlene Earnshaw on as a partner at Trekaroo.

Sharlene is no stranger to the Trekaroo community. She has labored with us for 13 years on Trekaroo taking on more and more reaponsibility and leadership. She started off as a contributor to our website like so many others but her obsession with sharing travel advice tested through her adventures with her twins caught our attention right away. She became a Superoo and soon after agreed to come
onboard as the editor of the Trekaroo blog. A couple years later. She took on the important role as editor-in-chief of our entire website. She has been so much more than an editor. She trained and mentored so many moms and dads into excellent travel writers, she’s mastered the ever changing landscape of search engine optimization, and persevered under so many trying situations.

When we had our third child, she held things together when I couldn’t think about anything. When we were discouraged and exhausted Sharlene was incredibly patient and tenacious. During the pandemic, she kept faith that Trekaroo would survive and thrive again one day. We began handing over the reigns for directing the strategy and financial aspects of Trekaroo over to her and she has risen to the task again and again. Under her leadership, Trekaroo’s future has never been more promising.

So it is with great pleasure that I officially hand her the role of CEO while I step into a supporting role. I will still continue to write about travel and consult with those seeking to reach families who travel. But for now, I am confident Sharlene is going to lead Trekaroo well into this next stage of growth. Please join us in raising a toast to Sharlene.
