The Story Behind Trekaroo
Four months after our first son was born, we decided to venture to the stunning ruins of Macchu Picchu in Peru. As avid travelers before kids, we were determined to keep exploring. It didn’t take long to discover that traveling with a baby was a whole different ballgame. As anxious parents we searched high and low for other parents who had been to Peru with their kids. We

had a million questions that no guide book seemed to answer. The more we traveled, the more we dreamt of an online community of like-minded parents who we could trade travel advice with. More than a year after the initial idea and with no go-to resource for traveling parents, we realized we had to build it. We knew from first-hand experience that the correct advice can mean the difference between going and staying home. As our kids became adventurers themselves, exploring together has become a family hobby. Sometimes this takes us to a nearby tide pool along the California coast, while other times, you’ll find us scaling Mayan ruins (we’re counting down the days to this even as I write). Every time we find a delightful discovery, it’s exciting to share it with other Trekaroo families. Whether you are new to traveling as a family or a veteran, we welcome you to Trekaroo with open arms.
