Henry Lipkis is a mural painter that works on large scale culturally focused projects. After studying illustration, he spent some years as a traveler painting at street art festivals and creating murals on beautiful old walls around the world for families, businesses, and local municipalities Much of his work is focused on exploring the edges of humanity, tradition, and magic and where they all grow into one another.

Since settling in New Orleans, Lipkis has collaborated with the 9th ward Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs (9 times, CTC Steppers, Big 9) in creating a massive secondline mural on St. Claude. He has also worked intensively with Mardi Gras Indians to concept and draw out the illustrations and stories underneath their intricate layers of glass beadwork.

While continuing to work collaboratively with culture bearers, Lipkis is exploring concepts of growth and decay, and how old things continue to sprout new life.

The street artist known as CrudeThings has produces Crayola-colored murals featuring monsters, clowns, cats, and mermaids. Her toolbox of trades includes hair dressing, puppeteering, circus performing, makeup and wig design, as well as painting.

CrudeThings doesn't plan ahead. She lets her leering little aerosol monsters take her wherever they want to. And she doesn't try to obliterate what came before. She loves the weather-beaten masonry, plywood panels and old graffiti that pops through her porous paintings. The effect is lush and inviting, like a field of Krylon wildflowers.

this article from 2022:

"A painting by the fabled British street artist Banksy that was thought to be destroyed years ago, has been rediscovered and is being restored."

"If the conservation project comes to pass as hoped, it will be the second Banksy that Cummings has preserved. Banksy's controversial painting of National Guard looters on Elysian Fields Avenue was soon covered with layers of graffiti tags and pasted posters. But by 2017, the painting had been sawed from the stucco wall that held it and meticulously restored. The artwork, still affixed to a 1600-pound piece of cement wall, is now on display in Cumming’s International House Hotel, at 221 Camp St."

Fat Kids from Outer Space: Modern Man, Juvenile Delinquent
🔗www.fatkidsart.com

Fat Kids from Outer Space is an American-made solo artist with a collective mind. Born in the early eighties, Fat Kids was raised on cartoons and fast food, which were strong influencers from a young age conceptually and aesthetically. While living in Europe as a pr***en, Fat Kids discovered graffiti, the work of the Dadaists, and Dutch artist Willem de Kooning. These new discoveries, combined with the love of classic American cartoons and cheap American culture formed what is still the corner stone of Fat Kids’ visual and mental landscape.

Although graffiti has inherent social and political implications, Fat Kids prefers to work and exist outside of these alignments. Rather creating art works that are an "alien" interpretation of the American condition, aligning with no side of any story. The characters and iconography found within Fat Kids’ body of work are a re-imagining of the signs and store clerks along the path. " I always identified more with Zippy the pinhead, than Charlie Brown".

Banksy’s graffiti painting of the Gray Ghost has disappeared!

“One of the few remaining artworks, a portrait of an anti-graffiti activist known as the Gray Ghost, could be found on the wall of a townhouse at Clio and Carondelet streets. Until recently.

The painting, which depicted a shadowy figure in painter’s coveralls applying a patch of gray paint to the wall, is gone.”

WTFToto is a street artist who specializes in political commentary. If you’ve seen a phony concert poster featuring Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump’s “Farewell Freedom Tour,” then you’ve seen Walta Focq’s work.

Walta uses all online profits to buy ci******es for the people who live under the overpass.
Visit his website at 🔗 wtftoto.com

Walta Focq is a British National and veteran of the 1982 Falkland Islands War. Focq is famous as the only casualty at the Battle of Sheep Hill, where his left testicle was shot off by an Argentinian sniper. The injury left him deeply bitter, which critics speculate may explain the negativity in much of his art. Currently Focq and his PTSD dog, Toto, make art on the streets of New Orleans.
