I've booked Anthony and Samantha for years with various groups of friends, but this year they decided to add a family trip to the calendar! Their adorable kiddos got to use their fresh passports for a trip to Mexico over the 4th of July.

As you can see, the kids 10/10 understood the assignment and adapted to the all-inclusive life very quickly.

But as Hurricane Beryl started to make its way towards Cancun, the fun family vacation could have come to an end, should they have decided to go home early. The family decided to buckle down and weather the storm.

Happy to report that everyone was fine post-storm. I hear the kids even slept through the Category 2 hurricane. When they got the all-clear to leave their room the next morning, the family chose to be part of the massive resort-wide clean-up that was underway. Peep the kids hauling palm branches to the beach. If that doesn't make a parent proud, I don't know what will.

But my LEAST favorite question is "What's the best........"

Because here's the deal friends... my best is not your best is not your neighbors best is not your sisters best.

Your best is YOUR best.

Here's what I mean. Your cousin just got back from a vacation and is GUSHING about how amazing it was and how you "HAVE TO GO!!!!" Sure, you could copy/paste their vacation, but would you enjoy it??

Do you have the same timeframe, budget, interests, activity level, taste, preferences, etc.? In most cases not.

Earlier this month when I was in Cancun, I transported sweet puppy, Lalo, from Isla Animals to his new family here in the US. Last night I got an update from Lalo’s new mom saying he was fitting in perfectly with his new pack and they were overjoyed to have him join the family 💙

Lisa was a referral from another client I've sent to Alaska, and boy did she love it!!

Lisa had heard about her friends adventures, and while they sounded like a good time, she knew that a giant mega-ship wasn't for her. No problems, I always say there's something for everyone.

We reviewed a few options and found a smaller Holland America Line option that felt best to her, so we got her booked.

In her post-travel feedback Lisa shared, "I am so glad I went on this adventure. Everything went so smoothly and Alaska is phenomenal".

She also let me know that I exceeded her expectations when she said "Based on conversations with other passengers, you went above and beyond the typical travel agent."

I'll take it:)

Many months ago, longtime friends and clients Melissa and Andy reached out about a graduation trip for their son, Justin. They sent a list of possible destinations and we worked together to narrow his trip down to not one, but TWO amazing destinations; Australia and Indonesia.

On the 4th of July, while we were shooting off fireworks, Justin was shooting off to the first leg of his adventure in Australia. There he met up with a group of young adults and a local leader before he did the same in Indonesia. The adventures Justin had in each place have no-doubt ignited the travel bug in this young man.

Early in the planning, I told Justin's mom that while I always care for my traveling clients, I would care for this trip as though it was my own son traveling. Based on Justin's post-travel feedback, I'd say mission accomplished. He said "I think you kept me and my parents informed really well. Things were organized. I felt like if something went wrong, you would help me the best you could. I wasn't nervous about the trip. I felt safe. Thank you Katie!"

Just returning from 10 wonderful days in Europe (and already making plans for a return)…

While I was away, I had clients across the US, Asia, Australia, and Europe all move about with very minimal disruption due to whatever that IT glitch was. A huge thank you to my friends in travel who back me up while I’m away so I know my clients are always in good hands!

I’ll be filtering through emails over the next few days. I appreciate your patience while I return to normal operations.

I'm LOVING so many clients taking family trips this summer to celebrate graduations and other milestones.

Mid-winter, longtime client Sherri reached out to plan a trip to Paris for her and her daughter to celebrate her daughter's high school graduation. With the Summer Olympics coming to town, we had to be very thoughtful in our planning to avoid any challenges around that.

We planned a visit to the Eiffel Tower, a river cruise, a chocolate tasting, a private tour of The Louvre, among other adventures.

The ladies returned home last week, and had this to say about their trip to France: "This whole trip was amazing! Paris has so much beauty and history. The food was delicious with the most adorable cafes"

About working with Bucket List Travel, Sherri said: "Katie was a wonderful travel agent. I would not have felt comfortable traveling there without her assistance.”

I look forward to working with Erica and Justin every year for their anniversary trip. This year, they were lucky to have family join them in Cabo.

Unfortunately, the airlines gave us some trouble, and my clients had to spend an unplanned night in Texas. But they faced it with a good attitude and got to their destination early the next morning.
