I still remember the commercials hyping up the park back in 2001 and finally got to experience it for the first time in 2014. As a Disney park fanatic, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of visiting a park for the first time—it’s pure magic. And now, my top Disney vacation moment of 2024!

At the end of every trip, after all the rides have been ridden, snacks enjoyed, souvenirs purchased, and photos shared, what truly lasts are the memories made with the people you share it with. Amidst the hustle of making rope drop, booking Lightning Lanes, or holding a table while balancing trays of food, you find the real magic.

For me, it was moments like experiencing the Disneyland that Walt built, sharing a mother-and-son evening at California Adventure, and sitting front row at *Fantasmic!* to watch my son’s face light up seeing it for the first time. These moments—and so many others throughout the year—are what keep me coming back and inspire me to help others plan their most magical vacations.

#3: As someone who loves to experience different resort tiers when staying on property, it felt extra special to stay at the iconic Disneyland Hotel—widely considered the first on-property resort. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend watching the *Inside the Attraction* episode on Disney+ that dives into the rich history of the Disneyland Hotel. It added so much appreciation to our stay!

The countdown of my top 10 Disney vacation moments of the year rolls on!

#4: As I mentioned in a previous post, most character experiences at Walt Disney World follow a set schedule and location. But on our end-of-summer trip, we learned that Disney magic can sometimes bring delightful surprises!

By pure happenstance, we found ourselves at the Mad Tea Party just as Alice and the Mad Hatter were meeting guests. The Mad Hatter wasn’t listed in the My Disney Experience app, so this was a total surprise! They spent so much time with us, hosting a mock tea party and even offering tips for our roles in *Alice in Wonderland Jr.*, which we performed shortly after our trip. It was such a special and memorable moment!

#5: Most entertainment at Walt Disney World runs on a schedule—shows, fireworks, parades, and even character appearances are planned down to the minute. But every now and then, you get a magical moment you *can’t* schedule, and that’s exactly what happened on one super rainy afternoon.

The Magic Kingdom’s afternoon parade was canceled due to the weather, but the magic didn’t stop! Instead, we got to experience the *Rainy Day Cavalcade*, a smaller but super energetic parade featuring the catchiest songs and the cutest characters. I had seen it mentioned on social media before, but I was so excited to witness it in person. What a special and unexpected treat!
