Welcome to Naturally Sublime Creations where I am offering you items created using stones gathered from various Rock Shops throughout the US. There are so many beautiful gemstones to be shared throughout the world; you could live a thousand lifetimes and never see them all. It is these various climates, mountainous regions, deserts and valleys, etc., that produce these wondrous beauties! I actuall

y discovered the art of lapidary serendipitously. My husband and I lived in WA State for many, many years and became lovers of the waterways and began collecting sea glass a number of years ago. I pursued the art of wire wrapping so I could wrap some of the large sea glass pieces I was gathering, as well as pottery shards and other beach finds worthy of adornment. As a result of that training I was introduced to the crafting of jewelry items from stones. My wire wrapping instructor, Foster, with the Clallam County Gem & Mineral Society excelled at wrapping stone cabochons that he created in the Society's workshop. When I saw his creations I knew I had to learn this art as well! My husband and I attended an Open Workshop event and a Gem & Mineral Show that the CCGMS sponsored in Port Angeles, WA, and we were hooked on the subject! We actually travelled two hours each way every Wednesday to spend six hours in the society's workshop. The CCGMS leaders and members are very friendly folks and are extremely knowledgeable with many years of combined experience. The best part is they are very willing to share that invaluable experience and knowledge with their members! My husband and I moved to Indiana in July 2013 and decided to spend the summer of 2014 in WA State. We travelled the "See America" roads and enjoyed the heck out of our trip! We didn't utilize any major highways until we were nearing the Seattle area of WA. We stopped at numerous Rock Shops on our trip to and from WA. We also collected some very nice stones on the beaches of the Olympic Peninsula and on various river beds. We found a lot of the stone called Turtle Rock by some and Frog Rock by others, a stone found in WA and only a handful of places throughout the world (so we are told). While gathering "tumbler sized" stones we had to be real cautious because the "pretty little rock syndrome" kicks in and we tended to want them all! Well, it was difficult to resist with so many at our disposal! We purchased and gathered approximately 500 pounds of rocks on our journeys and can only say, "Thank goodness for flat rate packaging!"

We are now fortunate in that we literally live within walking distance of the Evansville Lapidary Society, although admittedly we do not walk there! I owe my husband a world of thanks for all of the stones he saws/slices for me. The first time he sliced a stone I was definitely enthused with the process and couldn't wait for him to cut into another. The beauty captured in these stones is unimaginable! There is NO end to the stones to be discovered...it becomes an addiction that begs to be fed! (According to my husband he is the "slicer" and I am the "dicer.")

I hope you enjoy the finished products I have to offer you so far. I have mostly focused on pendants but I am concentrating on making earrings as well. I have made some mesh sea glass earrings and matching necklaces but want to concentrate on stone earrings also. My pendants are various shapes, sizes, colors, etc., and if you don't see a stone you like I will probably be able to get it for you. If you'd prefer a particular stone in a different size and/or shape, that can probably be arranged as well. Most of my creations are wrapped with Sterling Silver or Gold Filled wire. I do have some items that are wrapped with silver filled wire which is less expensive than Sterling Silver but better quality than silver plated wire. I have filled some glass containers with sea glass which make a gorgeous decoration and can be breathtaking when the sun shines through them. They are nice to sit on a window sill or anywhere the sunlight or other light can shine through them. The vials make great sun catchers when hung in a window. Rough rock slabs are available for you to create your own items and we will be increasing the inventory so please check back to see the new offerings as they are added to our inventory. I also plan to offer finished cabochons for you to design to your liking as well. I hope you enjoy what is currently being offered and will be pleased as we continue to add new items.
