There is still room for you to join us as we taste classic Crete wines!⁠

Crete boasts one of the oldest wine making traditions in the world, dating back to the bronze age. The latest generation of winemakers blend international perspective with traditional techniques and indigenous grapes to create a new future for the island’s wine industry. Cretan varieties include Kotsifali, a vibrant, plummy red often blended with richer, more structured wines like tannic native grape Mandilaria. Liatiko, one of Greece’s oldest varieties, is another red to watch as some compare its transparency and freshness to Pinot Noir.⁠

Don't miss out on eating your way through Greece with us, one bite at a time! ⁠
We’ll be sampling the famous bougatsa cheese pie, a classic horiatiki salad, and kalitsounia sweet pastries. We’ll taste the extra virgin olive oil of Crete, a variety of artisan cheese with local“raki”, Cretan olives, thyme, honey, and homemade Cretan wine.⁠

South Africa has a delicious assortment of foods, including great vegetarian options! Some of their most famous meals include Bunny Chow (no bunnies involved!) a bread bowl filled with meat or veggie spicy curry (second photo). Bobotie is their national dish of minced meat simmering with curry spices, dried fruit, and baked with an egg and milk mixture on top. Chakalaka & Pap (last photo) is a veggie dish made of onions, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, beans, spices and is a porridge similar to American grits. For dessert, international influence has created a twist on the British custard tart called Melktert, and a sweet Dutch Malva pudding. ⁠

Imagine tasting the wines of the famous vineyards of Stellenbosch or eating dinner under the African stars after a day of Safari!

The Stellenbosch wine region has over a hundred wineries, known best for their Cabernet Sauvignon which can be found on wine lists all over the world, and their famous Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, and Chenin Blanc are planted there in quantity. ⁠

Goodbye to a wonderful 2024! 2024 took us to British Columbia, Parma & Bolgna, and Bordeaux.
Thank you to all of the guests and friends who traveled with us. The people, food, the wine, the cities, and scenery, we are grateful to have experienced it all.
We're excited for 2025 and can't wait to experience it with you!

That's a wrap for our French adventure! We walked and tasted our way through the magical city of Bordeaux, sampled the sparkling wines in the historic village of Saint-Emilion, and braved the rain to sample the oysters of Arcachon Bay. Thank you to all of our guests who joined us to learn about the food and wine of this beautiful region of France. And a special thank you to Chef Kevin Bechtel who helped choose the amazing restaurants, plus he already knew the difference between Right and Left Bank wines!

It's impossible to sum up our magical time in Emilia Romanga. But a good start is with the people. We laughed, bonded, walked, ate, and learned!
