Have you ever considered getting a Thrill Waterpark Cabana for the day? We did, and 10/10 would recommend!

Overall, the cabana was a great "home base" for us. The kids could come and go (within reason, of course) and they knew where to come back to. We could ask our attendant to bring us food and drink throughout the day. We could leave our belongings in the locker out of site.

There is also electricity available, and our kiddos who need sensory breaks could relax in the shade, get their devices out knowing they were charged, and take a break for as long as needed. (While the sibling that didn't want a break could go on the waterslides 5,026 times.)

The cabana comes stocked with a cooler with water (and you can put your sodas in it as well!) and towels. The curtains can close for shade or privacy.

And watch out for the wildlife! I didn't get a good picture, but we had chickens and iguanas wandering about!

The cabana is our "big splurge" on Royal Caribbean cruises. And it is 100% worth it.

This past trip in January was my kids' first time back at Disney since 2022. If you've been around long enough, you know that 2 of my 3 kids have diagnoses/are neurodivergent. We've used the DAS pass ever since 2018 whenever they are with us.

I won't lie, I was worried going into our video chat this time. I'd seen stories about families being denied the DAS pass under the new qualifications. BUT, as a travel agent who specializes in travel with special needs, I had 2 families travel in the fall and be approved, so I had hope.

Our video chat from log on to approval didn't take 15 minutes. My husband literally ran to the grocery store when I logged on, and I was wrapping up when he came back in.

In our case, due to having an immediate family of more than 4, both kids were approved for the pass based on their diagnoses. They both answered questions (as best they could). The cast member was nothing but nice and understanding. We had no issues with the process.

Once on our trip, the pass was active in our accounts once we hit our first park. We learned after the first try to book "boys on one pass, girls on the other." I had to book everything twice - 3 + 2 so sometimes our arrival times were a minute off, but it wasn't a big deal at all.

We were there at a very busy time and had lightning lanes as well, but the DAS was much more useful, as there were not many LL options.

Disney's Memory Maker - is it worth it?

Purchased in advance, Memory Maker is $185. If bought less than 3 days before your trip it is $210. This gets you all the photos taken by Disney Photopass photographers around the parks AND resorts, as well as ride photos. The trips we've had Memory Maker, we will actively seek out photographers and get pictures taken. We usually end up with 50-100+ photos depending on how many days we were there. In addition to just "pictures" you also get pictures with special effects added as well as videos! I think it's worth it, because lets be honest - these are some of the only photos with all 5 of us in them!

One of the highlights of any Disney trip for my family is the food. We have all types of eaters in our family, from adventurous, to my shellfish allergy, to only wanting chicken nuggets and fries, and the most awesome thing about Disney dining is that they can accommodate all of that.

During our most recent trip we did one sit down meal per day, including Rodeo Roundup BBQ, Boatwrights Dining Hall, Hoop Dee Doo R***e and ‘Ohana. Rodeo Roundup was brand new to all of us, and the kids had not been to Hoop Dee Doo before, but James and I had.

Dining at Disney is definitely pricey, but so worth it. For this trip we didn’t do the dining plan, but instead I saved up money and gift cards in order to pay while we were there. If you’re doing Disney on a budget, I highly recommend planning how you want to do food, be it a combination of table service, quick service and supplying your own food and budgeting appropriately.

One of the most amazing moments of our recent dining was at ‘Ohana. Our server noticed that our picky eater daughter had not eaten much during the dinner and asked me if she wanted anything off the kids’ menu, like mac and cheese, chicken tenders or fries. She gladly asked for chicken tenders and fries! Keep in mind, none of our kids count as “kids” anymore, being 12, 12, and 14. But our 2 AuDHD kids are pickier eaters and don’t like everything. Throughout the trip though we were able to order them what they would eat, whether it was on the kids’ menu or not. No one argued or asked us why, which is such a relief.

I’m already missing my Disney dining. Back to the real world…
