Here’s an update from a friend who was out riding with his son over the weekend. I thought it would be worth sharing, especially as many of you have been asking about the weather and trail conditions.

“Currently, I’d rate the trails a C. It’s not that great—pretty bumpy, with the typical early-season riding conditions. There are a lot of branches down, and we definitely need another storm or two to improve things. This report is specifically for the state trail.”

A quick reminder: When checking the weather, avoid looking at forecasts for downtown Grand Marais. Instead, check inland weather reports, such as wunderground.com for the Grand Marais County Airport station. This location provides a much more accurate forecast, as it sits roughly 1,200 feet above lake level.

Also, be sure to keep an eye on the Cook County Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club page and the Lutsen Trail Breakers page for the latest updates on grooming reports and trail conditions.

We're off to a great start this winter. We've already groomed Summerhome Rd and the Campground a couple times, and we have lots more snow in the forecast.

The we**am is back up and running. As you can see we have snow!!! Almost a foot has come down so far with more in the forecast!!! We hope you can come up soon to enjoy our winter wonderland.
