> swipe > Early 1900s “projects” built to force-relocate many Roman residents from their ancestral homes in the center, to the outer hills of Rome, when Mussolini and his people decided to build the wide parade routes for his military demonstrations and marches. One such parade route is the Via Della Conciliazione that leads from the castle to the Vatican’s St Peter’s. That entire wide road as it is now, was filled with people’s homes, which were demolished to make space. These big huge massive “projects” are everywhere in Rome. One of them is this one, around the corner from my apartment in Monteverde Nuove neighborhood. I find the architecture fascinating 🇮🇹
