Want your business to be the top-listed Travel Agency?
Ambrosia was born from a love of authentic Greek culture and cuisine along with the desire to spread the life changing Greek experience to others. It began as a dinner delivery and catering business, focused on providing farm-fresh home cooked Greek meals. Frustration by the lack of high quality Greek products on the market in the US led Ambrosia to import EVOO and other ingredients from Greece and form a partnership with EVGE. And the love of Greece inspired us to share the magic of the real and authentic Greece with others through privately guided customized tours and itinerary planning.
Travelling in Greece awakens the senses through dramatic seascapes, extraordinarily diverse landscapes, fragrant aromas and exciting tastes. However, Ambrosia travel’s true goal is for travelers not to be tourists, but guests in a Greek home--living as a Greek, savoring the simple pleasures of life, participating in colorful local festivals, meeting amazing local people and sharing delicious meals of locally grown ingredients, seasoned with herbs, olive oil, love and imagination, accompanied by fragrant local wines and good company. And upon return to bring a bit of Greece home, by recreating authentic Greek atmosphere, cuisine and conviviality at every meal.
Ambrosia’s founder, Carol Papaletsos was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, but her spirit is Greek. She fell in love with Greece on her first visit in 1987 and subsequently, got a BA in Modern Greek Studies at Boston University. Then she moved to Greece where she lived for 20 years and developed her love of Greek cooking. She is now back in her hometown to promote Greek culture and share her passion for authentic Greek cuisine and travel experiences.
