If you have not been to Moab, Utah…..GO THERE! It’s absolutely breathtaking and deserved more than 2 days of exploring. Didn’t make it to canyonlands national park but made the most of our time hiking Dead Horse in the evening and Arches National Park the next day. Jeep from Canyonlands Jeep rental was outstanding, however we didn’t get a chance to off road with it! Windows arches were some of my fav and the hike to/from Delicate Arch was far from ‘delicate’ in the 96 degree heat but absolutely worth it! Of course we had to sample the local breweries, food and ice cream. Best donuts EVER at Doughboy fueled us for the day of hiking. Email or call me to set up your trip to Moab.

Catching up - day 1 of Rocky Mountaineer ended with a night in Glenwood Springs. Cute and easily walkable town with hot springs, plenty local restaurants (darn Doc Holidays was closed) and a comfy night at Hotel Colorado. Not only is it a fascinating historic hotel enjoyed by Pres Teddy Roosevelt, it has a haunted past. Just ask the Fri t desk and you might get a private tour into a guest room no longer used, and a creepy basement where Al Capone is rumored to have escaped thru a hole in the wall. They even took us up to a tower room where the ‘unsinkable Molly Brown’ stayed. I made sure to refer to her as Margaret so she didn’t get upset with me😉. Day 2 on the train to Moab was filled with more spectacular scenery, delectable food and impeccable service from Joey and our talented chef.

Not sure there are words to describe how fabulous this journey was today. Rocky Mountaineer staff waved goodbye from the platform, champagne toast, history, stories told, delectable food, ans breathtaking scenery between Denver and Glenwood springs! Omg spoiled already as we’re greeted by Rocky Mountaineer staff, luggage is taken to our hotel in Glenwood Springs and we board the train for todays adventures. Deluxe food & drink for the day, comfy seats and big windows to take in the spectacular mountain views. Much more to come. This might be my new favorite method of travel; what’s yours?

Denver….so much to see and do! Did a city scavenger hunt today which was a blast! Highly recommend staying at the Sentral Union Station downtown. Of course Coors Field was part of the journey! Tomorrow we board the Rocky Mountaineer!
