The July 4th holiday and the long holiday weekend are right around the corner!
While this is a fun time to be out on the water, it's also a time when we see an uptick in collisions between manatees and watercraft.

Here are some quick tips on how to keep an extra eye out for manatees to make sure everyone has a safe holiday weekend!

They’re so massive but so graceful at the same time! Fun fact: Manatees might look bulky, but they can swim up to 20 mph in short bursts when needed. With careful teamwork and a lot of heart, we were able to rescue this incredible bird and get it to a wildlife rehabilitation facility. These stunning shells are true icons of Florida’s coastlines and the largest snail species in North America. The vibrant orange color of the animal inside is just as impressive as the shell itself!
