“We’re the Housers! Steve and I have been married for almost 12 years and we have two kids, Lennon and Mya. We love our Disney vacations and our weekends full of sporting events for the kids. As parents we have made a conscious and consistent effort to have real conversations with our kids about what’s important, where we come from and how we can keep progressing towards the future.

For those of you that don’t know, today is so important because it’s the day that ALL of the slaves learned they were free; truly making strides to make us the ‘Land of the Free.’ We’ve made so much, progress and still have a ways to go towards ‘Equality for all’. We believe that we can get there, but that it will take work. Continuing to learn real history, standing up for injustice, being an ally is all capacities and being kind are some of the best ways to get there. We hope all of you are able to have a conversation with your families about the importance of Juneteenth and that you can find a special way to celebrate too! And remember, “none of us is free, until all of us are free.”
