Less than a week until we head out on our next adventure!

Just home from the preview cruise to the Disney Cruise Lines newest destination - Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point located on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera.
Once docked, it’s a 1/2 mile walk down the newly constructed pier to the tram stop. The pier was designed to have as little impact as possible to the reefs surrounding the island and this carries over to the overall design of Disney’s part of the island. Natural dunes have been left in place and most of the pathways are elevated over the sand to protect the environment.
The water surrounding Lookout Cay is amazing - deep clear blue and bathtub warm - fantastic for swimming and snorkeling. Disney also offers several different excursions and you can become immersed in Bahamian culture.
As this was a preview cruise, there are many areas of Lookout Cay that remain unfinished - the bike and nature paths for example.
As to the layout of Lookout Cay, it is very different from Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. The family cabanas are located a short distance from the end of the pier and everything else is a 10 minute tram ride to the other side of the island, including Serenity Bay which is at the end of the main family beach with their cabanas right on the main path. Over on that side, there are family beaches, several bars and eating places for a BBQ lunch (included in your cruise fare) along with drink (soda and water) and ice cream stations. Alcohol is available at an extra cost at the several bars on the island. Restrooms are plentiful and clean but unthemed and boring, not Like Castaway Cay.
