Baby boomers are aging out of jobs they long dominated like builders, farmers, mechanics Young workers aren't clamoring to take their place.

This has been a growing problem for several years now, builder’s associations across the country have been expressing concerns about our aging tradesmen with little to no positive results. The problem is only going to get worse I’m afraid as fewer people enter the trades.

Young people are shunning an occupation that’s physically demanding and sometimes dirty, though well-paid. The consequences could be far-reaching.

Well, we did pretty good at the Builders Association Corpus Christi Area BBQ cook off! Cooking with Kelly Gibson with Uretek ICR South Texas and my nephew Jack McDonald was a blast and very rewarding....we won 8th place in Brisket, our Fajitas on Friday evening won the Fajita Jackpot/1st place and we made the final table on our ribs and chefs choice (pork belly burnt ends with a honey/buttered rum glaze). Thanks to Jim Leavelle for having me on your team!

Spending this great weekend cooking some Big Green Egg BBQ with my friends at Uretek ICR South Texas in the Builders Association Corpus Christi Area annual BBQ cook off at the San Patricio Fairgrounds in sinton. Come on out tomorrow and say hi, it’s going to be a nice day for some smoked goodness!

Through several design changes and delays, these young men have been (almost) patiently waiting for their new home to be built....It's good to see they are enjoying the progress of the FoxBlocks ICF portion of their build (just wait until we put them to work on pour day!!😂😂) Brothers at 16, 13, 10 and 8....what great young men, full of questions and excitement!

This project was constructed by a builder friend of mine and is a perfect example of how ICF construction in areas of extreme exposure to hurricanes is a superior method of construction to ensure your home will withstand the elements that Mother Nature can throw at it!

While drilling foundation piers for a new project coming online, I was joined in the skid steer by their youngest son who totally enjoys things of this sort.....however after approx. 5,748 questions over two days, things got quiet and when I looked down I found my little helper had run out of steam and was down for a nap. No worries, within about thirty minutes he was up and back to asking questions...Thanks for your help R, I enjoyed our visit!!

Today was pour day for another FoxBlocks ICF project! Today's job is a 50x50 workshop that is in conjunction with an ICF residence we are currently working to complete. When done, this will be a big, comfortable place for our client to spend time working on projects, honing skills on hobbies or just hanging out whiling time away! Thanks again to Malcolm Matthews with ICF Texas and Alfonso Nieves with FoxBlocks for all of their help and support on our ICF projects. Helix Micro Rebar has also been a big part of our team for several years now. Out team of hard workers also deserve a shout out for another job well done....Jeremy Johnson Chris Linebrink Raymond Moreno and James Gunter and Jack McDonald, Thanks again guys, job well done!
