👻Victoria Haunted History👻
Southern Pacific Depot
800 Block of East Santa Rosa
Many bodies departed from Victoria and arrived here at the old Southern Pacific Depot. During a heated argument at he train depot the afternoon of November 27m 1986, hack driver Babe Miller shot and killed Dave Halfin. Miller went to prison for two years but was given early release due to failing eyesight.
Those attuned to the paranormal would do well to visit this site and spend time here. Just across the tracks behind the old depot was Victoria's most notorious red light district.
What sort of ghosts do you imagine inhabit this place? Sadly the old Depot burned to the ground in the 1980's. Vagrants built a fire inside to keep warm and 100 years of history went up in smoke. Look for the historic marker just off the intersection.

👻Victoria Haunted History👻
Hauschild Opera House
202 East Forrest
Built in 1893, the George H. Hauschild Opera House was the venue for countless performances and was the center of social life at the turn of the the last century. In recent years the building has housed a bookstore, an antiques mall and an event center, respectively.
Occupants have heard furniture being moved upstairs in what was once the balcony. Investigating the sounds, the tenants found the upstairs empty.
Does a phantom of the opera still sing nightly? Do the ghost of performances past still walk the boards of a stage that no longer exists?

👻Victoria Haunted History👻
1892 Victoria County Courthouse
101 N. Bridge
The 1892 Victoria County Courthouse, designed by architect J. Riely Gordon, has its share of stories associated with mystery and death. Many criminals have learned their fate in the grand courtroom on the second floor. One has only to imagine the anguish and terror that seized a condemned man or woman at the instant the sentence was read. While the sheriff's office was located in the northeast corner of the first floor, more than one murdered soul was carried there from somewhere in town to await the undertaker. Far too many individuals have experienced mysteriously locked and unlocked doors, footsteps in the empty building, and voices whispering in the deserted hallways to ignore.
