Every winter, these humpback whales make the 3,000 mile journey from southeastern Alaska to our Hawaiian Islands for breeding and nursing their young. With each adult whale weighing up to 40 tons, these gentle giants are a spectacle to behold. Watch them breach, blow and slap their pectoral fins on the ocean's surface from January through March.

The Waikoloa Lei Day Festival is on Sunday, April 30 from 8 am – 7 pm. The Waikoloa Lei Day Festival will celebrate the origin and art of lei-making in Hawaii. Festivities will take place at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Kings' Shops and Queens' Marketplace . This free festival will include free lei-making workshops, a craft fair at the Marriott, sidewalk sales at Kings’ Shop and Queens’ Marketplace, keiki activities, live music, and hula performances.

Plus, don’t forget to visit the Info Booth to enter for a chance to win a Haku Lei or Lauhala Punch Lei!
