Just sharing some happy moments from Maui as we all could use some ππ€πΎ I get really excited when someone asks to do a surprise proposal along the road to Hana π
Weβve been getting asked if guests should come to Mauiβ¦ Initially, myself and many others were against any form of tourism knowing that eventually Iβll be ok with it. We stopped everything and put 100% of our resources to helping our community. However, I didnβt expect to start swaying this soon. In an ideal world, this would have been a good time to make adjustments to how we handle tourism. But itβs apparent thereβs an urgent need to bring it back for the sake of the local economy. Weβve lost 80% of our future bookings to cancellations. The island will continue to mourn for awhile, and the last thing mourning families want to see are tourists having fun. But then I wondered if that resentment is misplaced. Itβs not like the original intent of our guests is to be insensitive. We forget to realize that tourists also died along side our brothers and sisters. At the end of the day, were on the same side, weβre all humans figuring our way through life. So I say comeβ¦ be human with us ππ€πΎ

Road to Hana review πππ
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MAUI
Top 3 attractions:
Haleakala Summit - The drive itself is easy and there are plenty rangers to assist just in case. Sunrise requires you to purchase a reservation online. Youβll also have to wake up around 2-3am to race the sun up. Anytime after 8am thereβs no rsvp needed. I prefer the sunset since itβs more relaxed and the stargazing is amazing up there. Be sure to bring a blanket and dress warm as it can get extremely cold once the sun sets.
Road to Hana - Hiring a local guide will get you the most for your time and a chance to see the real beauty of Hawaiβi, its people. This one comes with amazing photos and a music video: https://abnb.me/pojmbdBi5Db
Snorkeling - I recommend sailing on the Trilogy, but boats arenβt your thing then Iβd recommend just relaxing and snorkeling at Maluaka Beach. Rentals are available through The Snorkel Store.
Activities
Spearfishing - Rent A Maui Boy. For the more adventurous ones.
Hookipa Beach - See 10-30 turtles sunbathing. Watch pro surfers during the winter.
Surf lessons at the Cove, Kihei - good place to learn surfing, take lessons from Maui Wave Riders.
Lavender farm, Kula - peaceful lavender farm.
Strawberry farm, Kula - pick your own when in season.
Iao valley, Wailuku - short nature walk with streams to swim in. Need rsvp!
Maui ocean center - place to see local marine animals, not very big but great for kids.
Maui tropical plantation - good for lunch, you can feed the ducks, zipline, awesome farmers market.
Haleakala summit - Go for the sunset. Make it a full day upcountry by visiting the lavender farm, ocean vodka, winery, goat farm, etc.
Waihou Hike - shaded hike for completely different type of foliage.
Surfing Goat Dairy, Kula - yummy goat cheese and goat petting.
Trilogy sailing to Molokini or Lanai - best snorkel and sail company. Whales Nov-Mar
Makamakaole hike - aka 13 crossings.
Triple L Ranch - horseback riding and bomb burgers.
Happy Trails at Bamboo Kai Ranch - pony rides for kids plus cool farm animals.
