Long time customers Bob and Stephanie Liska had a successful morning on Leech Lake! Water temps are currently hovering around the 50 degree mark and walleyes are definitely feeding heavy right now!

The best fishing of the year for walleyes and perch is just around the corner. I still have plenty of openings the month of October for Leech or Cass if you'd like to get out one last time before we put the long rods away for the season!

The Aim Pro Walleye Series on Leech has come and gone. Not the finish we wanted but have ultimately become satisfied with our placing given the bite and conditions over the week.

Congrats to the champs, AGAIN this year Joe Bricko and Dylan Maki. Unreal run boys!!!!

I did have 2 cancelations this week. Will be looking to fill 18th and 21st for either Leech Lake or Winni.

My 8th UFC event is officially over. The Lund Boats Ultimate Fishing camp threw high winds at us most of the 3 days. Through all of it all students and pros were able to dip and dodge the weather and find a few fish. Lots of learning, laughs and memories were made out of Trapper's Landing Lodge on Leech Lake this week. Can't wait to do it again next year!!!

2024 Aim Pro Walleye Series championship is a wrap. After leading day one we just couldn't get the same bites on day 2 to hang on. Even though leaving disappointed I look back and realize how lucky I am to get to do what I do and make the memories, learn new bodies of water and what makes each fish tick in different parts of the country. I can't say enough good things about the new Lund Boats 219 Pro V paired with the V10 Mercury 400. This thing is an absolute screamer and handles even the worst waves when you need it the most.

If you've never experienced Lake Sakakawea, I would highly recommend it. Definitely a fantastic area for everyone with insane populations of fish of all sizes and species!

Haven't been great at posting for a bit but figured I'd give a quick update between guide trips and the last tournament fished on Big Stone. Right now Leech Lake is a day by day bite. One day it's great when we have wind or clouds, the next it's a grind. Fish are slowly transitioning during post spawn so electronics are the key for locating new areas.

Our 2nd stop of the year for the Aim Pro Walleye Series was on Big Stone in Ortonville, MN. With not a great practice we battled our way to a 9th place finish to gain some decent points for TOY. The better news is I am absolutely loving the new 219 Lund Boats and Mercury Marine 400 V10. I never dreamed of being in anything but a tiller but this boat is an absolute battle ship ready to take on any body of water.

I will be taking a break from guide trips next week to fish the AIM National Championship on Sakakawea in ND. Super excited to put everything to the test again on a bigger stage!

Great day on Leech Lake spent with my oldest son Brad fishing the Carpenters Classic. We came up just a bit short but any day I get to spend on the water with one of the kids is memories I will never forget. Huge thanks to Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters and Trapper's Landing Lodge on Leech Lake for putting on an absolute A+ tournament that is perfect for any fisherman or women to have the perfect fall fishing weekend. The Cass Lake MWC Walleye Tournament is in the books. There were some pretty unreal bags that hit the stage and that left us just a bit short in the end. Still happy with our 3rd place finish and to have our teammates take the first two spots is still something that I don't think has totally sunk in yet. Back to Leech Lake now for the home stretch of the open water season. Fall fishing is finally here!

The Aim Pro Walleye Series MN State Championship is in the books! Randy Topper and I stumbled and bumbled our way to somehow an 11th place finish, punching a ticket to next year's National Championship. CONGRATS to Nate Leininger, Tyler Wolden, Joe Bricko and Dylan Maki for going 1st and 2nd. Truly amazing to see to 75+ lb bags come out of that fishery. Also, the accommodations at Becker's Resort and Campground through the last 10 days have been 2nd to none. If you are looking for 1st class operation on Lake Winnibigoshish, start no other place than with Tom and his crew!
