We are exactly one month away from picking up our four boats for a week of epic sailing in the Balearic Islands, before we head to Barcelona to cheer on American Magic in the America's Cup!! Good luck team, we can't wait to be there and to give you our full support!

Our boat crews are all looking forward to a pre-departure party in a couple of weeks here in Washington, DC, to celebrate the official start of America's Cup racing and to ramp up the excitement for the adventure ahead of us!

A moment of silence for the crew of Simplicity

In February a terrible tragedy took two of our own. Kathy and Ralph of Simplicity were brutally murdered off of Grenada, setting off a storm of news coverage and speculation on why such violence could happen to members of our community.

For many of us, spending months cruising the warm waters of the Caribbean is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream as it was for Kathy and Ralph.

As the winter cruising season draws to a close, let’s take a moment to remember the loss of the crew of Simplicity.

The nominal departure date for our spring rally north is May 10th. On that date, which for many signals the end of the cruising season in the Caribbean, I encourage all of us to have a moment of silence for Kathy and Ralph, at 17:00 EDT.

Fair winds to the crew of Simplicity for following their dreams.

Welcome to the 2022 DC Blessing of the Fleet! This year, the event will take place on the Washington Channel, along the Wharf waterfront. Tonight we joined our friends at Port of Washington Yacht Club - POWYC to recognize the 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act of 1972. Potomac Riverkeeper, Dean Naujoks provided insights into the work of the Potomac Riverkeeper Network over the last several years, and ongoing and future work to clean up the Potomac River, holding those who abuse the law accountable, and how together we can achieve the goal of making the Potomac River clean enough for all of us to swim in!

Stay tuned for details of a collaboration event we are planning to hold with the Potomac River Keeper Network later this year to continue to keep the health of our river at the forefront of public awareness.
