Post vacation vibes…
As a family travel planner, I’m often on the road with my kids. It’s one of the things I love most about this work!
But that first Monday after a family vacation is always a little bumpy, digging out of your inbox and trying to refocus your brain. My easy tip? Plan ahead and don’t schedule any calls or meetings until Tuesday after vacation. Give yourself a day to ease back in.
Then follow us to start curating your next family trip!

Ready to get your kids underwater? 🤿
Fun fact: My husband and I have both been certified divers for 15+ years. We didn’t want to stop exploring the underwater world when we had kids! And not only that — but introducing our love of ocean exploration to them has been a highlight of our parenting journey.
For families that love snorkeling and diving, these Caribbean islands are a must-visit. Not surprisingly, perhaps, they are three of my favorite destinations to plan right now too!
🌊 Bonaire: Bonaire sits on top of a barrier reef and marine protected area, which makes the snorkeling straight from the beach unparalleled. This gives beginners and advanced snorkelers and divers easy access to stunning underwater experiences.
🤿 Roatan, Honduras: The reef starts right off shore in Roatan, too. The post-dive scene on West Bay Beach can only be described as the tropical version of an apres-ski.
🐠 Belize: Home to one of the largest barrier reefs, Belize provides easy access to incredible underwater adventures. What makes it a great snorkel destination for kids, though, are the little cays that can be used as a home base on snorkel outings. Kids can get the full dive day experience but with plenty of beach breaks.
Which one do you choose?

4 reasons to take the kids to Placencia:
- A chill walkable town: people constantly ask me for Caribbean destinations that have a walkable component. The main street in Placencia is actually a sidewalk, providing great vibes to walk around for a little local shopping, drinking, dining, and ice cream, of course.
- A boutique hotel for everyone: you won’t find big resorts here, but there’s a boutique hotel for everyone, from barefoot luxury to modern, or something a bit more casual in town. All spots your kids will love too (according to mine, who tested them for you)
- Snorkeling: you’ll be 45 to 60 minutes away by boat from the world’s largest reef system. Snorkel with sharks, stingrays, and turtles all at the same time!
- Reef to Rainforest: Pair your time in Placencia with a few days in Belize’s interior rainforest, just a few hours away by car, for a well-rounded family trip that has the right mix of laid-back beach vibes and a little adventure too.
Can we take you to Belize? We can plan it top to bottom and you’ll be on your way ;)
