I try to keep my posted photographs current but I’ve had this portrait on my website home page for quite awhile and every time I look to replace it, I just fall in love with even more making it impossible. Hello friends, don’t mind John and I, we’re still a little giddy about living in such a fascinating city like Washington, DC.

If you could’ve told me during the pandemic that John and I would move from the familiar and comfortable life we had in Orlando to live in a fast paced unknown city, I definitely wouldn’t have believed you. And now here we are two years in and we are really loving it. John has said he’s never felt more alive than he feels right now.

I love all the great experiences we’ve had so far, the wonderful new friends we have made, and the amazing weddings I’ve had the honor of photographing.

Taking risks are never easy and they do have challenges. I’m glad we didn’t let that stop us from stepping out in faith to imagine a new life in DC.

Weddings are always full of unexpected moments and that’s what I love documenting. The key is being at the right place at the right time and I think all of my years of experience working as a photojournalist prepared me to be in the right place at the right time.

Catching this fun moment of excitement on Sam’s face as she looked out the window and saw her loved ones arriving and vice versa was definitely one of those situations where I was where I needed to be to get the shot. Shout out to my second shooter on the ground who also was in place to get that third angle.

Happy Saturday! Did you know that a majority of my couples get to enjoy the last half of their cocktail hour?

That’s largely because my husband John and I are like a well-oiled machine that runs smoothly and efficiently when it comes to post ceremony formal photos. We work from a detailed shot list and John is great at getting the next group ready in the sidelines while I’m photographing another group. We make a great team and I love that we can serve our couples in this way.

Hello friends, hope everyone is staying cool out there this weekend with record heat happening in DC today. It’s a wedding off weekend for me.

I am feeling very grateful to be living in a city that offers so much to do both indoors and outdoors. John and I plan to visit some of our favorite museums today and I’m also planning for a dinner party this week. Aside from my passion for documenting weddings using my photojournalism background, my second love is entertaining. I love wowing friends and family with delicious dishes and then sitting back and enjoying it and engaging in real conversations.

I think there is a similarity with the two, I’m drawn to authenticity in my wedding photography and in the realness of breaking bread with friends where we share our joys and struggles.
